Instead, consider doing the PADA Rescue certification in Koh Tao in December. The conditions will be perfect for this course: monsoon conditions!

I completed my Dive Master certification with Simple Life at Koh Tao during the 2016 monsoon season. They also ran a couple of Rescue courses during my 16 day, intensive study where we dived the same sites. I did my Rescue and Search and Recovery courses in Dubai where the visibility was only 2-4 meters. When the conditions are a bit challenging, then additional learning can often occur.

Don't get me wrong, I do like fun dives with great visibility! Good luck with your Rescue course. I also recommend completing the e-learning in advance, and complete the skills component on site.

...the flight from HKG to HKT is cheap (US$140.00) and accommodation is also less demanding.

Much appreciated.

For Lanta it's easier to fly into Krabi airport, rather than Phuket, if that's an option..

No international flight serves Krabi.

Air Asia fly direct from Hong Kong to Krabi... Or you can fly from Hong Kong via BKK, which is easier/quicker than getting a minibus from Phuket...

Wow a direct flgiht! Thank you very much and I will look at it and compare the fare with HK Express to HKT. However, HK Express flight does seem to have better schedule: 10:35 arrival and 23:30 departure.

No worries...Krabi airport is handling more and more international flights these days... Lanta is getting easier to reach all the time.

I think Air Asia do lots of one-stop flights via BKK, but they do a few flights per week direct too...

I am wondering why Air Asia is offering daily direct/indirect flight from HK to Krabi even during low season! It just doesn't make sense at all. No wonder the airline was losing RM205.2 million in 3rd quarter 2018.

As far as I am concern, HK Express schedule to HKT is far better than AK to KBV.
