Ok, thanks. I'm thinking it's too slack now. It's hanging.
I'll do as you suggest and suit up then adjust.
As tight as possible as long as you’re not squealin.

It will feel tight on land but underwater you won’t notice it and will stop it riding up on you at the surface while waiting for boat.

So glad I decided to ask. Trust me, from your comments, how it is now its waaaay too loose then.
There’s some videos on YouTube or ask someone. It’s better shown on a video.

Hi All. So I did my 1st couple of dives this weekend with the Ghost. No regrets.
The suggestions above regarding the crotch strap(s) were on point. I think I have it just snug enough that I don't notice it while under, but it does play a factor when on the surface in my case.
For sure it was a different experience from my Avid. Just so much less clutter around you and since I use a pony, less is more.
Donning on the boat (smallish boat, backroll necessary) was not any worse, but I did find it a little difficult to tighten the waist strap to where I wanted it while seated (my waist is kinda small). The boat was rocking a bit, so getting up and standing straight to do it was difficult. I'll have to figure out a technique to get it tighten enough. I ended up adjusting when I went under. Any suggestion would be welcomed.

I think my shoulder straps are a little too loose though. I have it tighten to the maximum with quick adjust (this is the deluxe version), but I think it needs to be tighter. I'll have to try and figure out where to make this adjustment. Whether up at the BP though I'm not sure if this will cause the BP to go higher on my back or maybe make the adjustment down by the top half of the buckle/clip.
I've included a video that someone was kind enough to shoot while I was at my 2nd safety stop, so I'm hoping on some feedback on fit.

@Trailboss123 Thanks again for your thread and recommendation on where to buy. Work out just right.

Thanks Marc

Hey Marc-- You look great and very properly trimmed and weighted.
Here is my technique for the waist strap tightening, hopefully this makes sense: Thread the strap through the buckle. Once through the buckle, grab the strap end with your left hand and then grab the buckle with your right hand, with the buckle nice and open. Then, pull away from each other in opposite directions simultaneously. Works like a charm and allows me to cinch down nice and tight.

As for the shoulder straps, they can be adjusted and I actually ended up cutting some excess strap and then took a lighter to the cut and frayed end to re-seal it. Just look at how it is threaded and you will figure out how to tighten it up a bit. Glad you are happy with your new rig! You will only get more comfortable with it as time goes by. Took me about 10 dives to kind of sort everything out and get it just right. It's a big adjustment going from jacket style BC to back plate wing. Sounds like you have a couple of very minor adjustments to make.

EDIT: Also, I think you will find that the shoulder straps don't really need to be as tight as you think, compared to your Jacket BC experience. I know that was true for me. The Jacket BC has such a tight and snug feeling to it and if that is all you know, then it might feel weird when you transition to a BP/W. Also took me a while to get used to not having a chest strap. Getting the waist strap and crotch strap dialed in is the most important, in my opinion.

Hey @Trailboss123, thanks for the waist strap tip. I'll definitely try it .

For the shoulder straps, did you make your adjustments at the top where it attaches to the plate? That's where I'm thinking of doing it. It seems to me that the D-rings could be a little higher.
To be honest it doesn't feel uncomfortable. It just that looking at the pony it seems to not be as it should though I really don't have the experience to know if I'm just making a fuss for nothing.

You are right though. A totally different feeling from a jacket BC. Not having the chest strap did feel weird to me as well.

What I've done to keep my pony bottle a bit tamer in a similar set up is to use a sidemount-esque ring bungee on a 1/4" bungee and the top boltsnap on the tank with a choker. The bungee attaches to my backplate roughly where it flares out for the shoulders on your backplate. Keeps the valve up in my armpit and isn't even noticeable in the water.

I like that trim.
