This is correct, if you don't know how to use your life support system, it is useless.

You admit to purposely avoiding learning how to use your life support system.

You admit that you are barely able to retain even the most basic understanding of your life support system.

This is really scary dude. Perhaps you should pick up a different hobby. Ignoring the rebreather comment, I'm worried that you may get yourself killed doing a single tank recreational dive.
Thanks for your positive comments. I tried my best to understand how my computer work. And having asked other users, and rereading the manual about 4 times, the deco function was still not clear. That is why I forced it to deco with fake setting. Did not clearly understand the reading from 2 weeks ago. Planning to force it to deco again today, and between the tips from people who REALLY have used the computer and ignoring the flamming - I will better prepare myself in case I ever needed to use it. Hopefully never. It is NOT a computer made for deco diving. It is just a recreational computer with deco algorithm.

Yeah, in that thread he claimed to have assisted in a DM course. Really???
Flaming is really your specialty, huh? Yes - I did dm when i had about 100 dives, the other candidate about 50. It is not saying I am a divemaster. It just means I took the course, passed. And moved on with life.

I'm confused? I thought you said that you didn't read the manual once in full but now you read it four times? You didn't even know how to operate the light function half an hour ago.

Yes - the fins were rigid and too difficult to kick. Like going up hill on a high gear. Probably will take a good 10 dives to get the muscle development to use it efficiently.

After reading a number of the OP's threads and posts I believe he is an Internet diver and/or a troll.

Don't feed the troll.

Solo diver??? With 200+ dives???

In '62 I made my first solo dive, it was my first dive. My "instructor" was only in the water with me for buddy breathing on the double hose. My first buddy dive was #21, not many other divers in the boonies.

Yeah, I actually have 250+ solo dives. SDI AOW (which requires a minimum of 3-4 in water classes + 25 dives) plus 100 additional dives is required to even take the solo course. So that's what? 250 + 25 + 100 - more than 375 dives. Admittedly not a whole lot, but I know better than to do the stuff that the OP says they are doing. Do I doubt the claim of solo and 200+ dives? Eh, take a guess.
I personally prefer not to dive solo. But when you are lobstering, it is easy to lose your buddy due to current. I am glad to have taken it, the solo course. Only reason why it is on my profile was the dm candidate attracted too much flame, and there is no way to turn it off despite contacting sb. So I switched it to solo.

You have taken a solo course? What was it in relation to? If you are going to bullsh#t then please try to remember what you have previously posted as you are making this too easy. If you are unable to remember what you have posted ( due to to many nitrogen hits to the frontal cortex!) Just go back a few pages and reread it.

Hi @fisherdvm

Your initial post was confusing to me, the discussion, following it, has gone all over the place. Clearly, it would be in your best interest to have a good understanding of how your computer(s) work and you should pursue that goal. I believe the fact, that you are a DM and a Solo Diver, made it more difficult for people to understand how you could not be more familiar with your computer. If you can not read your computer, you should take action to remedy that or get a computer you can read.

Your questions made me curious, so I perused the Mares Puck Pro manual:

Safety Stop: I don't see that the safety stop can be turned off or changed. It is 3 minutes between 10-20 feet. It is not mandatory, and can be skipped. It is displayed with SAFE and a time countdown

Deep Stops: I don't see that deep stops can be turned off or altered. Deep stops are generated as "you approach the no deco limit" The deep stops will be one stop for 2 minutes or two stops for 1 minute. I could not determine why one of the two strategies would be chosen by the computer. I believe the answer to your initial post is that the first two stops were the recommended deep stops and the third stop was your safety stop. The deep stops are not mandatory and can be skipped. When in no deco, the deep stop is displayed as DEEP no deco. If you are in deco, the deep stop is displayed as DEEP DECO.

Deco: Deco stops are mandatory. When in deco, it will be displayed as DECO with a depth, stop time, and total ascent time. Whereas the uncontrolled ascent lock out can be disabled, the missed deco stop cannot. If you miss a deco stop and surface, you will be put into violation gauge mode and will be locked out for 24 hours. The computer does have an erase desaturation option in set up. I don't know whether that would work after a missed deco stop or not

Good diving, Craig
