my Chinese canister light is obnoxious bright. it has 30 hours or so on it and works flawlessly. i usually set it to setting 3 of 4 because the strongest setting is blinding for everyone Im with. and its still way brighter than whats needed
very happy with my $160

$160! I bought a Chinese u/w flashlight for less than $4 and I've had it on about 50 dives and it has had no problems and I think I'm now on my second set of AA batteries. I bought more for my friends and family. It's not the brightest light ever made but it's a reliable back-up plus you can use it in the rain or around water and not worry about it getting wet. Some of the Chinese stuff is perfectly fine and often very cheap. I think there are, in general, two groups of Chinese products--those that are really cheap and those that are made under supervision of a foreign manufacturer with high quality control standards and premium materials. There is "Chinese" and then there is "Made in China."

Brinyte it has CREE LEDs it was a gamble purchase and im super happy with it. I bought some good batteries and it runs on high for 4 hours in my sink before I decided that was long enough for 2 dives no problem and they took a 4000 Mah charge from the 5200 mah capacity so i had a little more in it.

it was $100 usd and i got hit with taxes and exchange it came to like 160 ish CAD I couldn't find much for canister lights without atleast tripling the price if they weren't from china.......... I dunno maybe i didn't look hard enough. either way it was well worth the money.

Which model did you get? The on/off button for their canister lights are on the canister not the light head, do you like that and are you able to reach the button easily?

Brinyte ELF-TSD3000 the button on the canister is fine. i put it in my lower tank strap upside down and can reach it no problem i usually turn it on once Im in the water- and Im not a flexable person I was originally concerned about not being able to reach it but I can so its OK.

looks exactly the same, but that model number isn't anywhere on it only the number I posted earlier. I don't think its 3000 lumens or even close i havent bothered to measure it but its plenty bright enough for night diving in the Vancouver area but its def brighter than a buddies North american made 1000 lumen light.

I have the Div08v video light from Brinyte and very happy with the build and quality of it. But then I purchased this because one out of two Div01v torches refused to turn on on my last trip to komodo in 2015. It looks like some driver circuitry in the head conked off because I can use the head of the other Div01 on either body. I emailed them in 2016 and they offered to repair for free provided I bear the shipping cost, and then I forgot about it because I was house shifting.

1/3rd the price of comparable torches from western companies and great function.
