Bare Ekove Vs. Bare Velocity Full Wetsuit

The main key selling point between these 2 wetsuits is that the Evoke has some kind of technology to keep you warmer underwater. I cannot find a temperature chart online for these models so:,

Question for anyone that owns one of these wetsuits and gets cold easily:
How much warmer does the 3mm Evoke (newer model) keep you versus the 3mm Velocity (older model) .. for example...say....in spring water (72-74 degrees) conditions?

I own a Bare Velocity 3mm and a Bare Velocity 5mm ... in 72-74 degree water I would wear the 5mm. And I'm built like a harbor seal, which means I have plenty of bioprene and don't get cold easily ...

I don't know these wetsuits, but I'll just note that essentially nobody dives the 72F springs in a 3mm on a regular basis. If 72F springs are your thing, you'll want at LEAST a 5mm--and probably a 5mm plus hooded vest or something like that. It's common to see 7mm suits in the FL springs. Sure, for one short dive, a 3mm is enough. But for multiple dives in a day, almost everyone needs more than that.

Ok, I can see that... since the Velocity doesn't come with the new neoprene technology.
I wonder if you tried the 3mm Evoke in spring water would it keep you warmer or if that selling-point is just gimmicky....hmmmm........

The fact that I don't have a 5mm wetsuit is what keeps me out of the springs. I have a 4/3mm from another brand and I still get cold with it.

For me, neither of my 5mm (Bare Nixie & Aqualung Aquaflex) were warm enough for an hour long spring dive. I found a used Evoke 7mm that I pair with a 5/3mm hooded vest, and am sooo happy. I'm not sure how much is the technology and how much is having 10mm on my torso But I've only done hour long dives with it. After a 3 day class in the springs this coming weekend, I may be begging for a dry suit

That's exactly what pushed me into a drysuit. An especially chilly weekend in March left us spending our surface intervals huddled in the car with the heater turned up to maximum. My 5/4 mm Bare Velocity plus 3mm hooded vest just wasn't cutting it after the first day. Never again for me.

I have the Bare Evoke with the Celiant technology in 3/5/7mm. I've worn the 5mm down to 48 degrees (for a short time). I've done multiple 55-65 degree dives (45 min) on the Great Lakes in the 5mm without issue. I had 5mm boots, 3/5mm hood, and 3mm gloves on.

I think the Evoke is probably worth the additional cost over the velocity. It is definitely a better wetsuit and warmer. At least my wife thinks so.

When I dove at Alexander springs I wore 2 wetsuits.. My 4/3mm and a shorty on top. The shorty was borrowed so I'm not sure how many mm it was. But I was pretty comfortable.. After 50 minutes I was ready to get out.

And when I dove at Epcot they gave me 2 wetsuits! Same thing, I'm comfortable for 45 minutes then it starts to get chilly.
