I bought my webbing from Northeast Scuba Supply but forget where I got my crotch strap material. @kmurray719 might remember where she got hers (I got the recommendation from her).

As for hardware, I bought it from DGX but it’s readily available locally as well. East Coast Divers has probably the best selection of hardware but most shops stock tri glides and D rings. I know Boston Scuba stocks yellow webbing but most other places I’ve been to just stock black.

Black is the one color i do not want on the Freedom Contour BP/W harness because I can’t see black on black well. Struggling mightily to find polyurethane coated nylon webbing 2” in dark red, light red and gray.

Yes, webbing is an issue.

Some thoughts:
I like the really heavy resin coated 2" material too. But in all honesty, the newer less rigid stuff is becoming fine with me. Maybe it is something to do with age...

Anyway, my calipers say that my fav stiff weight belt webbing mikes in at about 0.093 inch. I could go a bit lighter on a harness. But 0.045" is too thin and soft.

These guys offer a compromise at 0.070-0.075": Flat Nylon Webbing (2-Inch) - Strapworks Nice choice of colors, too!

Ask for a sample...

Edit:

I see you have looked at these guys, but maybe look again. (Strapworks) In addition, buy the crotch strap pre-assembled from DiveRite. No, it isn't 2". But with the included neo foam sleeve, it IS comfortable.

They come in any shade of black that you could desire.

Yes, the black Crotch strap MUST match the black of wetsuit and drysuit, because if i wore a red crotch strap over a black wetsuit, my rear view would look like a stripper’s thong. This would be an even worse look on my husband.

I have been unable to find stiff webbing in colors(purple) that make my wife happy. She uses a purple webbing from strap works that is as stiff as they have and it is way to floppy. I like very stiff straps and they seem to be available only in black. I have ordered quite a few samples.

Can you tell or do you know the diameter thickness of the webbing? Although we need 2” wide for stability, we could choose 1.1 to 1.9mm thickness in online choices. Also the stiffer nylon webbings have coatings; polyurethane, biothane, etc.
lastly, online stores sell tubular nylon that, could be used as sleeves just at the shoulders,(with wider keeper), so that could stiffen just the shoulder area, holding straps up, while rest of webbing is soft and colorful.
Since i can’t dive during hockey season, this is one of my winter experimental projects. I will post pictures

The blue heavy duty webbing from Pirahna Dive Manufacturing is pretty stiff and is approx 2.35 mm thick. Their yellow webbing is the same thickness but is definately softer so thickness is not a good indicator.

This is really good to know, because most of the stuff sold on line is a lot thinner, and very likely not stiff enough at all so it will roll and fold up.
