I’m looking to bring a group of 12-15 divers to Coz from Newark (EWR). Does any carrier fly non-stop at all? I was looking at early April to no avail. Is the Cancun ferry feasible? Or a major schlep?

I think unless you live in the south, Texas or Florida, area, getting a direct to CZM from the Northeast is next to impossible. On all my trips to Coz, I've never gone the Cancun route-for me personally I think it's a real PITA to fly into Cancun, get on a bus to Playa, then ferry it over to Coz. Not to mention carrying all your gear and 12-15 divers nonetheless. Also don't forget that you'll then have to do the reverse on your journey back home. I'd rather pony up a few $$$ and fly to Coz and not deal with Cancun at all.

Strange. United non-stop from Chicago no problem. About $700 round trip. Almost worth routing through ORD. Except I’m trying to avoid the connection bottlneck.

Or just pick another destination I suppose. I’m so bummed out.

try a flight thru Charlotte maybe on American? Have you searched for flights on this website below to find ideas? I know you want direct, but one stop isn't as bad as herding a big group thru CUN then to bus, then to ferry, then taxi all while lugging gear......
Good luck!

I did the Cancun to Coz via ferry one time because my flight to Coz through Atlanta was canceled due to weather.

It was much less expensive, much easier than I thought it would be, and after researching it I can tell you that lots of people do it.

And in the end I got there only about 15 minutes later than my original flight would have been.

Did you check Matrix?

There are several non-stops to Cancun, which beats connecting in airports. Reserved 2 or 3 vans to PDC, etc. Some flights are only $176 one-way, $354 round-trip.

I would rather french kiss a lionfish than to connect through ORD. If you plan on connecting there, I hope you and all your crew have Global Entry/TSA Precheck!

We do have a G5. It’s just too small for ALL of us so we’re going commercial instead.

I’m curious. Didn’t United once fly non-stop from Newark? I’ve been to Coz several times and don’t remember having to connect previously.
