Breathing chunks? I'm gonna throw the bs flag.
That was his claim. I don't see why he would lie about it. But neither of us were there.

I've done this. Have you? The basic schematics of the second stage makes this unlikely (impossible) . The inhalation and exhalation are separate. And the "pieces" that would not pass would be enormous. Imho - not just unlikely but complete fantasy!

But if it works for you - great.

I never keep my reg in when I hurl. I've never ever inspired water after, either.

I get that some people have a phobia about removing their reg, but I certainly don't. I've been pukey sick under the water three times. Once was CO poisoning. By the time I figured that out, it was breathe, puke, breathe, puke, ad nauseum. (See what I did there?) I was diving Venice Beach Fl, looking for Meg teeth and still came up with 6 and a mammoth spit tooth to boot. One time was the flu and I was guiding. Yeah, it was rough, but this would happen while at depth. I had a family of three I was guiding and I was feeling like I had died already. I was at the Winch Hole and would feel a swoon coming on. I would find the closest rock that wasn't live coral hold on, tuck my head to my chest (so's not to gross them out), spit out my reg and let 'er fly. The Yellowtails loved me and swarmed the three of us... even when I was dry heaving. At the end of the dive they gave me the biggest tip I ever got for guiding and they called me the "fish whisperer". They thought I was praying for the fish to come when they swarmed me. 2 phreakin phunni! I never figured out the third one. It wasn't as bad as the other two and since I wasn't working, I was able to call the dive pretty quick.

Yeah, timing is everything here. But, it's simply not that hard to pull the reg out, do your business, rinse your mouth out and then plug 'er back in. Like the mask on the forehead, this 'rule' you have to keep your reg in your mouth is nothing but a myth. If you want to keep your reg in, then do it. Do what's comfortable for you.

I know, that there will come a time, when I'm on my rebreather that I'll have to be the fish whisperer. You can be SURE that I won't be throwing up into my loop when that happens. Yes, I have a BOV, not a DSV, so I can act like it's a regulator, but I don't think I'll be doing that. So, I'll be keeping the loop/valve clean and since it's a rebreather, I'll be bailing ASAP. If anything, I've learned that being sick underwater reduces your ability to suss things out. It's one thing on OC, but quite another on CC. When in doubt, bail the eff out and call the dive.

I've done it due to seasickness, carbon monoxide poisoning ( who can say that), hungover, etc. All OC. Phobia? I will not take that personal since you don't know me. But whatever - do what you want and think is a myth "Chairman".

I haven't thrown up in decades (under or out of water). But, I have gone through the motions practising taking the reg out, hurling, and putting it back in (then using the purge button since I probably wouldn't have much air in lungs at that point). I was waiting for someone else to bring up (no pun) taking the reg out before I posted. I think that's what I'd do should I ever have to hurl. I do have extremely good airway control. It would sure keep my reg clean and eliminate an extra costly servicing.

Since when is scubaboard filled with clickbaits?

It could have been dried onto the inside of the reg. I once rented a reg that that had a layer of sand caked on the inside of the reg. During the pre-dive checks it didn't show up but it came loose during the dive and I inhaled (or nearly inhaled) sand. There was so much of it that I needed to change to the alternate so I could clear it out.

As for "chunks". I would think ANY amount of old vomit in my mouth would be so gross that it would come across as "chunks".

How is this click bait when the OP clearly included the full info in the post?
Because i've seen other posts from the OP and there is typically a link to their site that has nothing to do with the topic buried in these posts (in this case, if you click on the bolded "scuba diving" in the first sentence). The topics and info presented are usually pretty common, high level info like this one and this one:

GUIDE ON CHOOSING A DIVE COMPUTER - Abyss Ocean World

That said, it's not a big deal and certainly nothing nefarious - but they feel more motivated by advertising than content to me...

It is click bait (in my opinion) but it is not a TOS violation to include a link in a post and the link is scuba related. The post has obvious commercial intent (click bait) but posts with marginal commercial content are not forbidden provided they do not become disruptive to the point of being generally spammy. This is how moderators will look at it.

Furthermore, the actual content of posts is not normally moderated, most often only the "tone" or language used in the post is moderated and the factual content of posts is left to the community to discuss. In this case we have a post with a scuba related (albeit commercial) link but with relevance to scuba issues, no personal attacks or offensive language. If it gets reported (which it has not) then moderators may advise the OP to put the link in their signature instead of in the post. This is the general approach to dealing with users who intend to use Scubaboard for driving business to their website.

If, however, the link were NOT scuba related then it would be seen as spam and moderators would intervene, normally by banning the user.
