First of all let me apologize for yet another "what should I buy" drysuit thread but I need help.

Last spring I started cave and purchased a Pinnacle Black Ice. At the time I knew it was a tight fit but reading threads on run away drysuits had me spooked. I plan to continue toward full cave this spring but dread the thoughts of dealing with the drysuit.

Tonight I got it out and it was worse then I remembered. Down right painful. Physically and to my wallet.

I actually loved diving dry just not the fit of the suit. My thought is that if I have to buy another suit anyway, to see if there is a drysuit out there that meets my desire for a suit I can dive cave, winter months South Florida and tropical. Money is a factor but if I can use if qll three I am will to spend a little more.

So any suggestions?

What's your budget? How much can you recoup from your old suit?

Santi, Rofos, DUI........find your budget and see if the features you want fit in.

When I did my research last year I ruled out DUI based on info that it is not what it once was. Like the looks of the Santi but confused at all the different options. Never heard of Rofos.

Willing to splurge if it meets all my needs but don't want to waste money, again.

Not sure I can recoup much on the Pinnacle. Barely used but seems like used drysuit are a hard sell.

I've heard good and bad about DUI, then again good and bad for most. I've dealt professionally with DUI, Bare and Whites (now Aqualung). DUI staff have been good, suits 50/50, Bare staff good, suits are forgettable, whites has been excellent (in Canada anyways) and suit have generally been good.

Rofos is Italian and is carried by unified team diving, one of the most flexible and breathable suits around. Incredible reviews but $$$.

Lots of other suits, HOG, Diverite, Hollis, Waterproof......
Diverightinscuba carries many and would be worth a call.

Just had a quick look at the Rofos on DRIS. Looks like even more models then the Santi! But interesting. Is there a model that you could suggest that would be appropriate for my planned dives?

The Black Ice is neoprene and I know anything like it is out for travel. I am thinking trilam will get me the versatility for the different dive environments by varying the undergarments. About 64 degrees to around 78.

I've been using DUI suits for over fifteen years, mostly TLS350. My most recent suit is a FLX Extreme, this suit has been great so far. It just about as flexible and comfortable as the TLS, and it appears to be more durable. Though, prior to this my primary suit was a twelve year old TLS, so they've proven to be pretty durable. Check out the FLX before ruling out DUI.
