Where is it, exactly? From this "translated" account and others I have gathered that it will be to the south of the ferry pier (the one at the end of Benito Juarez), between it and the Navy pier. Is that correct?

Seems like a terrible way to do a dock for large sail boats/yachts/boats that is completely open to the ocean/waves with no break water or protection.......

You get an El Norte in with 5+ foot seas and it will tear that up and any boats tied up there.

Let alone a hurricane or close hurricane.

The new dock is just north of the town, on the boat ramp, across from the Sedena store. I thought it was supposed to be as a place for locals to tie up after trailer launching their boats. I agree, that the drawing shown would be blown apart in the first serious norte if that is the same dock. But I suspect not, that drawing looks like old plans to place a small yacht basin in the lee of the ferry pier…that would make sense for visiting yachts, and draw more of them.

I thought that too, but I heard they drove the crane onto a barge and it is really all about building an extension off the people ferry pier for boats. The area by the military base was supposedly just the staging area. That is also what the article posted says as well.

The new piers will be built just to the south of the Muelle Fiscal (passenger ferry pier) and just north of the large Mexican flagpole. I saw the engineers doing the geological survey of the bottom some time ago. Monday, the crane barge was pushed into position and a scaffolding dropped into place in the water, so the work can begin.

This makes more sense and matches with what was being talked about last fall when the square project was started. I was skeptical last fall when the square renovation started but now that it has opened up with the synchronized fountains, I am impressed. Hopefully the new pier project will turn out as well.

Aren't there fountains covered over at the Palacio. Gee, you are easy...... :)

I still maintain without any breakwater - the first big norte will pulverize it.....hurricane or TS comes near and it will be a new reef to dive lol.

These work. Had a great time watching the little kids playing in them. They place cups over the holes and since they do not which hole will fire next its a great guessing game for them to see who's cup if fired into the air next.
