So how did your wife react when she found it? ;-)

Haha. No, it wasn't me. I used a whole different angle with my wife when I bought my scooter.

The other guy, if memory serves, his wife didn't take it well at all. Not. At. All.

Actually been married 19 years. She's actually very patient, and fortunately also very forgiving. Explains why she's still with this knucklehead after all these years. She is also a little frugal and was a little taken aback by the cost of the regulator I'm putting the new transmitter on. I told her then I was buying a regulator. I didn't lie about the cost, but never told her how much I planned on spending either. I'm also thinking I should pull the "it's life support for scuba and how much is my life worth" card. Tends to help smooth over ruffled feathers. In that same light my daughter will get the old computer and I can tell my wife will make her diving safer too.

You could ditch the silly transmitter willy..... then you'd be free.

Who earned the bonus? This money should not be included in your actual budget nor income. It is a BONUS so in my opinion you should be able to spend it on what ever you want. Now it might be nice to spend sometime on her too.

Lol... Are you married by chance?

Sometimes it is better to ask forgiveness than permission.:D

My wife doesn't even ask anymore when it come to scuba stuff. She has her own hobbies.

Just come clean. Hiding things is just lying by omission. Couples should be open and honest with each other and have general agreements on spending and treat each other as equals. But what do I know? I'm not married, which is why I continue to spend like a drunken sailor on diving gear. Can't afford a diamond ring anymore!
