SparticleBrane:
Something tells me that tank serial numbers are longer than 3 numbers...

Faber generally marks serial numbers XX/XXXX/

First two XX=year of manufacture /XXXX/ = serial number

:help:
The marking reads:

first line:
FABER MADE IN ITALY M8303 06/1050/ 176 04<triangular sign>06 TC-SU 7694 -237 BSE117

06/1050/ 176 is the serial number

06(year made) 1050 (the production batch the tank came from) 176 (tank number within that batch)

06/1050/ 176 is the serial number

06(year made) 1050 (the production batch the tank came from) 176 (tank number within that batch)
Wow, I would hope after 8 years the OP figured out what was answered 8 years ago...

...oh, in case you missed it, this thread is 8 years old[emoji6]

second line:
DOT-E 13488-3442 DO NOT OVERPRESSUR17E REE 97 TP 5250

I can understand FABER (as well as ITALY and DO NOT :D ), I guess that working pressure is 3442 psi.
What is make date? April 2006?
What is DOT-E? What alloy does E mean?
Is there any kind of serial number?

Thanks for your help,
Dmitriy.
06/1050/ 176 I believe this whole number is the SN..... 06(year) / 1050(series) / 176 Lot Number(i think)
Example: Mine is 14/2023/071 year/series/lot

the 237 is the Bar (pressure), BSE117 (volume in CF, 3442 PSI, M8303 is I think the DOT manufacture facility code, TC-SU 7694 is Transport Canada and permit number

It is entirely possible he figured that out in the 16 years since he asked the question.

It's funny that this post was revived twice in the last 16 years to answer the same question.

The first revival was 5 years after the OP was last seen on the board.
