I used to post our release announcements here and then stopped doing that for some reason... no idea why, really.
Anyway, if you are interested in a free dive log program that runs on most modern computers (Windows, Mac, and Linux) and supports the majority of popular dive computers... take a look at our latest release.
The official announcement and the downloads page might be good starting points.

And for those who have no idea what I'm talking about, here's an excerpt from our "About" page:

Subsurface is able to track single- and multi-tank dives using air, Nitrox or TriMix. It also allows logging of weights and exposure protection used, dive masters and dive buddies and enables the user to rate dives and provide additional dive notes. With Subsurface the user can track dive locations including GPS coordinates (which can also conveniently be entered using a map interface). Subsurface calculates a wide variety of statistics of the user’s diving and calculates and tracks information like the user’s SAC rate, partial pressures of O2, N2 and He, calculated deco information, and many more.

One of the major strength of Subsurface is its support of a wide range of dive computers (see the list of supported dive computers). Subsurface can also import existing dive logs from several sources including MacDive, Suunto DM3 & DM4,JDiveLog and divelogs.de. Another strength is its ability to visualize the depth profile (and, if available, the tank pressure curve) in very innovative ways that give the user additional information on relative velocity (and momentary air consumption) during the dive.

Subsurface allows the user to print out a detailed log book including dive profiles and other relevant information.

Works very well with my Shearwater Petrel.

4.1 updated to 4.2 this morning.
not yet played with the simulator.

a couple of small translation bugs, in french, with the letter $, but no matter :
"$ajouter une plongée"
"$vérifier les mises à jour"

Thanks for mentioning that. Maintaining 25 translations makes it near impossible to check every string - even with a large group of volunteers.
I'll fix those strings (and I see there's a third with the same mistake) so in a future build that will be corrected.

i think there is already a french guy involved in translation, but i can help

all is translated in french but none is reviewed

Just finished the download. This is my first Electronic Log Book...I am trying to come out of the pen and paper age. :)

I will have to try it with my Petrel this weekend.

Works well with both my Suunto Vyper and Oceanic OCS.

But I must admit to being a longtime user of Subsurface.
