Bali, gili, komodo

Hey!

In a couple of days I Will Travel to Indonesia. I Will Arrive in Bali and stay There Maybe 3 days and then go to gili some days and After that go to komodo.
Im planning to go diving in all The places. So om interesting where to dive, wich dive resort is to recomended and Maybe some good ackommodation. one big goal is to see some manta rays.

Im a DM with 100 dives.

Manta bay and or manta point have year round mantas. The site can be dived from Bali mainland operators but best to stay on Nusa lembongan and beat the crowds. Komodo of course good chance to see mantas. Gillis unlikely to see manta tbh

Hi,

For mantas you have as pughio83 mentioned the Manta point and I highly recommend Padangbai as a dive base, I have been there this year and loved the place. Plenty of things to do after the dive: great beaches, great snorkeling, fantastic food!! Regarding Komodo, I was there 3 years ago and after experiencing the mosques in Labuan Bajo (about 4 different ones chanting at 4am) I moved to the angel island (http://www.lifesauntering.com/2010/09/angel-island-resort-paradise-to-stay-in.html) - on the expensive side though (you don't mention your budget). Diving in Komodo was great!

Theres a fast boat ferry from Jemuluk in Amed to Gili T . This is about an 1 1/2 hour drive from Tulamben. Wish I had known about it when I was there. This will allow you to get up and dive The Liberty and then head to the Gilis fairly quickly.I stayed in the Liberty Dive Resort when I was there (approx 25 euro /night) and they do a pretty good 4 dives in a day deal for 115 US( sorry for mixed currency prices). If wreck dives are your thing I'd definitely recommend the Liberty. the site gets incredibly busy latemorning-earlyafternoon with daytripper divers. So i would recommend staying a night and diving it early morning and as a night dive. Nusa Lembongan is a good place to see Mantas you can as others mentioned go there as a day trip from Padang Bai. We had a whole dive at a feeding station which was quite special and almost too easy. On the Gilis I stayed and dove with Blue Marlin who I would highly recommend.
Didn't get to Komodo this trip but everything I've heard from those who have been has me planning my next trip. Bring a reef hook the currents can be H2whoaaaahh.

If you do 3 days in Bali (2/3 dives a day) and 3 days in Gili (1 dive a day), I'd recommend the following.

Bali
Day 1: Tulamben, USAT Liberty shipwreck, great site not just for the wreck but also the sheer amount of life on it
Day 2: Gili Tepekong/Mimpang, enjoy sharks and great corals
Day 3: Manta Point, very good chances to see mantas and other great dive sites

Gili
Day 1: Shark Point, series of ledges with some schooling fish at depth
Day 2: Japanese Wreck, a small wreck but there can be a lot of fish on it. Quite deep so that the size does not really matter
Day 3: Deep Turbo, nice series of large pinnacles with valleys in between
I dived a fair few other dive sites, but none of the shallow areas (<25m) offered great corals and beautiful sceneries. A lot of turtles though...

As for Komodo, haven't been yet, but I'll go on one of the longer duration liveaboards when I get a chance...
