Contact Tobin at DSS, or PM him here on this board and have a chat. They make very high quality, well though out gear at prices much cheaper than SPs Tec line. He will only sell you what you need, what is right for you and nothing more.

Awesome!!! Thank you very much!

I've used Hollis, DiveRite, AGIR Brokk and Oxycheq. Re plates the only real difference other than price is the quality of finish AGIR being the nicest but it's also the most expensive. The Hollis plates also have a nice finish. As far as wings go I like the design, narrowness/size, of the Oxycheqs. But if all my gear got stolen tomorrow I'd likely go with DSS as the replacement. I've never dove DSS but have seen the gear up close and it is very well made. Many many glowing reviews from users on this board. Tobins is obviously a very talented man who knows what he's talking about. Good luck, enjoy the search.

I'll join the chorus about talking to Deep Sea Supply. Tobin is extremely helpful, and although some people find it frustrating, he will not sell you equipment until he's sure that he knows what will work best for your particular application.

I can't say this enough guys, Thank you! I've been on several forums that I never seem to get anywhere with questions that some consider too basic. The help and advice you folks have given is hard to find. What a great forum!

You don't need all the padding, bells and whistles. The Pure tec is all you will need. Save your money. Personally I'd chose the pure tec, well actually I'd go the DGX and buy their basic harness set I imagine it will be cheaper that the SP. The SP Tec line is pretty spendy.

Scroll down the page it's $32USD

The crotch strap is extra! And I prefer a softer material than those supply by DR.
. Nice site glad I got to looking at it price is a mile off from the scuba pro.
