Since when is 1.3 "much lower" than 1.65?

Do you think depth has some special affect on O2 narcosis, independent of PP? You keep distinguishing the two, but taking EAN36 on a 120' rec dive puts you at 1.67 pO2.

Do you really think O2 narcotic impairment is binary, in the sense that it's 0% at 1.64 pO2 and 10% at 1.65 pO2?

Depth has "special effects" on all gases insofar it potentiates the "dose" and this may trigger some significant response in the human body.

Lower the depth, the "dose" administered is lowered.

Raise the depth, the "dose" administered is higher.

The scientists would have told us if the subjects would have perceived impairment below 1.65 pPO2. None was observed and none was reported.

This gives me comfort that all other things being equal at less than 1.65 pPO2 there is no evidence of O2 being narcotic.

It takes a certain "dose" to trigger O2 narcosis and this dose is 1.65 pPO2 based on the cited study.

If new research becomes available showing O2 is narcotic at recreational depths (i.e. N32 at 100'), I will change my position.

Gah, I can't do it. 10 pages in and this is just another, "gianameri rants and raves about things he either knows nothing about or knows he is wrong about and argues anyway because he loves the attention"

This guy is a troll for bandwidth and yet we continue to give him hundreds upon hundreds of our thoughts.

I wonder if anyone has calculate the partial pressure of wrong at a depth of twelve pages.

I am tired of insults.

114 or so posts and no evidence has been posted that O2 is narcotic at recreational depths.

Stay with your "beliefs" and have a great life!

There's a two-letter term for that mass of words you just abused. Care to guess what it is?

Yes, an incredible waste of my time.

There were signs early on.
