When it comes to underwater photos it's really all about the editing. Start by shooting in RAW & then correct the white balance in post & you're off to a big improvement over a jpg in just one or two clicks of a mouse. After that it's up to the photographer how much more they want to tweak their files but considering the money spent to get the photos the editing time is a worthy investment.

Will you be labeling these with the type of animal at sometime?

The labels are there. Look down at the bottom from the Flickr viewer. Not every one is labeled but most are.

Thanks!

Very nice shots Charles. Wish my G12 would take pictures like that!

Cicopo- I shoot the G12 with both RAW and JPEG. Had great success using Vivid-Pix software to edit the JPEG pictures at this years Bonaire Invasion.

The G12 is capable of good shots but like all underwater shots, you need LIGHT. I use a single Ikelite DS-161 but I know I could do more with creative lighting if I used two.

The G12 is really a "mostly macro" camera. It just doesn't do wide-angle, even with the dome. Best it'll do is something like 34mm.

I've been shooting a G9 for about 5 years but use Photoshop to process the RAW files. When I bought the G9 you had to use Zoombrowser rather than DPP & it was very limited in what you could do EASILY but Photoshop gives lots of options. I also use Canon DSLR's (on land) but bought a Nikon D7100 to try at my R/C events. Seems like a very nice camera but I prefer the Canon lens line up.

Great shots, and your computer chops are killer as well!!

Really makes me think about trying to get on to the computer fixing side of photos. Ugg... I have photoshop. I think when I used it last, I accidentally photo-shopped a nurse shark into El Moro. and the color STILL wasn't right. I bought that lightroom one. Someone said that was way easier. It hasn't helped. Maybe I should unwrap it next and try that?

I have a hard time just going through my shots and deleting the crap. I am getting better. My older folder have more crap than the newer ones. But they all have crap.

Of course after looking at these photos, most of mine might be crap.... Maybe I should switch to video? One big piece of crap rather than a lot of little ones?

Anyway, GREAT PHOTOS!

Sounds familiar, Chief, sounds familiar.
