Glad others confirming my temp report as I thought some were still talking high 70's.
What Kev, came up and were surprised? Must be that east - west thing again....... ImageUploadedByTapatalk1356927689.496440.jpg

Try as I might, I seem to almost *never* find those seahorses - and I look *hard* at every piece of rope-shaped stuff out there. :depressed:

Do you reckon that first jawfish pic is a Dusky?

I love decorator crabs, but that may be about the coolest one I've ever seen from the bridge.

Can't *believ* you got a yellowhead with the eggs!! Cool! I wonder if the pair is the same pair I saw last week. When I surfaced to check my location when I was with them, I got quite a surprise at my actual locale. I'm blaming it on the viz. :D

You look to be a very fast learner. I see lots of fun ahead. . . :D

Thanks. I'm a pretty poor spotter of seahorses, but have been lucky enough to dive with some good ones. I thought it was a banded jawfish when I took the shot, but now that I compare pics, you may be right; and I'll hold onto that compliment to keep me warm on dives like the one where I shot 121 pictures....all just slightly out of focus.

It was really cold and the viz was really bad, but I didn't have anything better to do for these three hours. . .

And now, off to my colonoscopy appointment. Kinda cures one of a desire for citrus juices. . .

I did watch these guys both disappear down the same hole once. Maybe there were some eggs involved with that. Haven't even looked, yet, at the video that I attempted with them.

Hi Kevin,
Thanks for these recent sets. Do you mind sharing what camera you use?

Hi Kevin,

I do not mind. Digital Rebel. Ikelite box and strobes. Nearly always just use the 60mm macro lens, but will occasionally also drag along an older Rebel and box with a wide angle lens with no strobes.

I thought it was a banded jawfish when I took the shot, but now that I compare pics, you may be right;

I'm pretty well stumped with the ID's on the various jawfish at the bridge. I was just wondering if my surmise that if the face looks sort of "Asian" if that might mean dusky rather than banded. Steve K tells me the duskies tend to be much smaller, too.

One of the beautiful things about this thread is that all I have to do is take my best guess on any particular ID. Invariably there's someone smarter and/or more experienced than me who won't hesitate to provide the correct answer.

:)
