I guess culling is just beyond my capabilities. . . :D

But, I *did* get pretty excited when the only urchin over which I turned had a shrimp living on it - and then even *more* excited upon finding a second, smaller shrimp once seeing some of the shots on the computer monitor!

Enjoyed the video. (I leave the critter interaction issues to others :D)[/QUOTE]
I think the term interaction may imply joint involvement vs harassment or molestation. The vid would be great even without the petting zoo scenes.
Kevin that area changed quite a bit pre and post storm but is always worth a look. Need to keep better track of what is seen month to month. Maybe you could specialize in nudibranchs in the foot long range till you break down and get diopters for your mask......
Love the squat urchin lobster: boy are they tiny and tough to video as they crawl into the urchin side without the paparazzi ImageUploadedByTapatalk1356891555.331585.jpg

I be done *got* diopters/readers in my masks. Most of them critters are *still* too small. *And*, there may even be some rule about that being a hobby limited to female divers. :D

I *did* make a little video of a sea hare swimming near the surface in a marina up in Wilmington, N.C., that was nearly a foot long. Those things are too slimy-looking, anyway. . .

There have *definitely* been some changes since I was last there in August. Seems a lot of things are now missing. *But*, I wonder if that snorkel trail habitat might more than make up for the changes - until things can work their way back to closer to "normal". I was *most* impressed with all the cool stuff living amongst the snorkel trail boulders - especially at that southeastern corner of it.

I got a Sealife DC1400 for Christmas. This morning was the maiden voyage...still learning how to use it, but it was a beautiful dive....viz was around 20 -30 and my computer read 71 degrees...

Seahorse, jawfish, an entire school of flying gurnards, filefish, and a decorator crab were the stars of the show.

Try as I might, I seem to almost *never* find those seahorses - and I look *hard* at every piece of rope-shaped stuff out there. :depressed:

Do you reckon that first jawfish pic is a Dusky?

I love decorator crabs, but that may be about the coolest one I've ever seen from the bridge.

Can't *believ* you got a yellowhead with the eggs!! Cool! I wonder if the pair is the same pair I saw last week. When I surfaced to check my location when I was with them, I got quite a surprise at my actual locale. I'm blaming it on the viz. :D

You look to be a very fast learner. I see lots of fun ahead. . . :D

and some more. . .

Bilsant, I really like the headon with eggs yellowhead--depth of field and magnification is such that the head looks separated from the body!!

Although 71 would normally halt our diving until April or so--we may go next week when some family are visiting, maybe even New Year's Day.

Thanks everyone for all the pics--great stuff!!

We got 71 also today, viz was good. been out of the water for a couple 2-3 due to upper resp. infection. Was not sure I would be able to dive today, but turned out OK and felt good to get back in. Wore a 5mm with a 3mm hooded vest underneath.
