Sorry for heading off-topic here, but I guess the issue is resolved ---- flots ate too many beans.
OK DandyDon, I don't know how to quote the first paragraph of your message, then respond, and then quote the second paragraph of your message and respond, with the result that you and I both want, which is your message inside the boxes, and my responses outside.
Thanks in advance.
Sorry about the rant. The quote feature can be learned and used various ways, but it can be confusing - so play it safe if you'd like and just reply at the bottom of a quote, ok?
Thanks all.
As for our daughter she was def one of the best in her class and is very comfortable in water. Her dives for her cert went to about 45ft and she did great. I was right there with her.
I admit some of these posts made me a bit nervous but I really need her to get to Diving since she was certified almost 60 days ago. I want her to stay well practiced.
Also I should say her first dives were in a murky lake with about 5ft viz and she did not freak out. Good sign!
We are looking into ops in Coz that won't break the bank to take the 3 of us out. Will post back with what we ended up with. Our cruise gets in at like 8-9am on the 4th of Cct.
Ok, will you have all of your own gear, or be using the dive Ops? No Ops supply SMB so you'll need to take one each at least. I was on a boat there the other day with a nice couple from Dallas, on their first trip - and they had nice gear, even lights to look into holes, but no SMBs.
As I said in reply to your post on the infamous down current thread, asking about shore dives: I guess you could do some diving at Chankanaab park. You'd have to inquire directly or on the Coz forum, tho - as I haven't done it.
The currents & eddies can be challenging at Cozumel, but very rarely dangerous. I know you want to keep your family safe, but I guess you let your daughter have a drivers license? My grandson totaled 2 vehicles early in his driving career, then nearly killed himself on a bicycle - there is just so much we can do.
With the time you are arriving, I'd suggest Blue Angel's 11am boat as referenced by Matt above - with a private DM. The first day of dives on any trip is the most dangerous (85% of the accidents) so it would be helpful to you too to have your own DM, but essential for your child I think.
Alison would be a good alternative, and I had the pleasure of diving with her once last week. I don't know if she can wait that late but you could ask, she has a super boat, she is very safety conscious, etc. - except I'd still book a private DM.
Or you could book a private boat for about the same cost as 3 divers and a private DM - really.
