wow, really shallow huh? neat life down their though.

Depth range is from 8 to 20 feet deep. There can be BIG fish here, and huge schools..even more so then often found on the offshore reefs.... This is an Adventure Dive..it is also for good divers, not for beginners. A beginner would be better off at the shallow breakers reef of the Breakers Hotel on Palm Beach ( the Island) or at the Lauderdale by the Sea beach dive, also good for beginners and considered a pretty dive.

But the pumphouse dive can get your adrenaline up, and the current flow can be significant, even at slack high tide.
You need a dive flag to do this, for certain.....right next to this dive, in mid channel, where I can't recommend you to dive, as it is hard to do this "legally"..there is a way, it is just complicated....but just see the life 40 feet away from the jetty dive...Best adventure shore dive in Florida.... - YouTube

I see. The current can be a little strong at the surface.. The griend has not dived in over a year, I dont think he would be comfortable with it.

That's an *amazing* assortment for one dern dive - even *with* yer own personal spotter. Yer making up the one about the juvie slipper, right?? I fear I'm destined to live out my life having never seen a striated froggie. . . :depressed:

Remember sensory overload, I even forgot a few very cool things.....
I was videoing taping "Hairy" when I saw Mena (she had a colored plastic background slate) but only one so whoever that masked woman was she was kind enough to show me the micro slipper after I showed her Hairy.....
Wow a challenge, black background or no :uwphotographer:

The white belly says Yellow Garden Eel Heteroconger luteolus, but I have never heard of it having spots.

Has a dual name take your pick: Heteroconger halis or Heteroconger longissimus. Most people don't get close enough to photograph the spots. I found 2 last year but the smaller one disappeared shortly after I 1st saw it. The larger one got use to photographers. I hope the one this year is as friendly (I have yet to see it). Great find. Congrats on the blue eyed speckled hermit crab too bad the froggie got in the way. They are such hams when they see photographers.
