I have a logbook where I record basic information like dive time, depth, equipment, weight and gas consumption.
Anything "out of the ordinary" goes there.
I also empty my dive computer onto my laptop as I only bother carrying around the most recent logbook.

Q: What Dive log format do you use ?
A: divePAL

Will divePAL download from the Atomic Cobalt?
As far as I know, right now Atomic has no plans to work with us..... but if enough people ask may be they could change idea.

When we "support" a dive computer, we do way more than just downloading a dive log from it.

I just created my own, using Word to make a template. I used to print them out and keep them in a 3-ring binder (one of the half-size ones) ... but nowadays, my log lives on my computer. When I go on trips, I download the last 40 or 50 dives and a copy of the template on a memory stick and take it with me.

I also printed my own when I was required to keep a log for work. I copied a page from my first commercial log book and kept it in a three ring binder.

I use the PADI OW training book that came with the certification package. I like collecting the resort stamps when on vacation. Unfortunately haven't had quite enough dives yet to get a new book but getting close.

I use a 3x5" lined diary-type book. I always record the date, location, dive site name, and beyond that, anything that strikes my fancy whether it is a new fish species, water conditions, a restaurant visited or the weather.

I use a customized format made using and XL spreadsheet and printed on A5 thick paper in a three ringed binder (PADI Format)

Important things for me are lenses used, strobe format etc as well as gas consumption, weight, exposure suit, water temp etc. as well as comments on what I have seen and about the dive site.

I quit using printed dive logs long ago. What I use is a small spiral bound notebook about 4x5 in size (I am on volume 9). I log the date, name of dive site, time in the water, water temp, length of dive and surface interval. I have a little room to write about interesting critters and other divers who amuse me under water. It's easier to take on a trip as well and there is plenty of room for a dive stamp.
