The best joke I heard of is for wet suit diving only,... but someone put red food dye in one of the boots of my instructor & green in the other. He put the red boot on first & had to take it off, when he saw the dye, he though he'd sliced a vein open or something. Scared him a bit for a minute, but then he's a big wussie about blood & stuff. By then, his foot was already dyed red, He didn't think about it, but a few minutes later put the green boot on. When he took them off, he had 1 green foot & 1 red foot for 2-3 days until the color wore off. Harmless, but embarrassing.

Left foot should be red; right foot green. Gotta keep it nautical!

Just as we were leaving the gear-up location at a local freshwater quarry...

Me: "Hey, buddy. It looks like your tank strap is a bit loose. Let me get that."
Buddy: "Thanks!"

What my buddy couldn't see was that I shoved half a submarine sandwich (appropriate, eh?) between his backplate and tank.

And for the rest of the dive he couldn't understand why he was totally surrounded by a huge cloud of pesky little fish that WOULD NOT leave him alone!

DECO wants me to log in and you already know the problems I've had with that. (never did get in)

Me either.....Ive been trying for MONTHS...sending emails (always unanswered) to any and everyone. Ive basically given up - its a train wreck.

You could have taped a piece of cave line inside one of YOUR wrist seals. I'd bet almost everyone would get a kick out of that.

Didn't do this on April fools but found a scrap fire extinguisher on the seabed so me and my buddy came out before the other guys in my group, switched my dive tank for the extinguisher then stood waist deep in the water and when the rest of my group surfaced acted like I was just coming out from the dive. Got some stares and a few laughs :D

The deco..er um...mouthpiece is perhaps the penultimate example of diving tomfoolery that has ever been enshrined on the internet. Wish I had thought of it first.
I think you spelled that wrong... isn't it penile-timate?

Aw, man, I'm a day too late. No matter, this one's good any time.

Wreck dive? Got some gold or silver Carnival doubloons (you'll note I'm from New Orleans)?
Get there first and spread a couple around.

Watch your buddy's reaction upon seeing the first one...then another (this works best on buddies who don't know what Carnival is).

So, Question to the OP...... what did you choose to do? did you choose one of the ideas here?

Jon

You can't be a true Scott. He would have hooked the extinguisher up and tried to breathe from it.

Lots of good ideas, I'm going to take "gold coins" on my next dive on the Willie or Milwaukee wreck.
Ended up hiding a dry glove and under garment. My buddie didn't notice until we were out in the middle of the lake and ready to gear up. No a big HaHa but I got him instead of him getting me.
