It was raining hard today, so I went ahead and finally put my helmet together. I made this from a Bell helmet from Walmart and two UK mini Q40 LEd lights:

P3's poly bump helmet (base jump model) are still pretty expensive. Its a replica of the Ops Core gunfighter helmet. I picked mine up from Ebay pretty cheap. I chose red for visibility sake although black and multicam were way cooler.

I attached a couple of smaller Intova 100 lumen lights to the picatinny rail. I also a pair of Intova 200 lumen lights to convert my helmet into the "face-melter 3000". I can also attach a Go Pro hero to the front NVG mount. I can also attach a video camera to the picatinny rail.

It is. But the issue is still relevant, as the number of SM divers expands. There are a num,ber of options out there, including some skateboard helmets. And, 'inquiring minds want to know'.

I'll post some pics if you want. I guess I just got embarrassed at the date oversight.

Thanks for posting the pics. How does it behave in the water? I have put lights on a climbing helmet but found the style was not appropriate for diving, particularly with a DPV, because it had an flared out lower edge that 'caught' water. This one looks like to fits close to the head.

Has anyone had the opportunity to try the new LightMonkey helmet?
No experience, so I hope someone who has a LM helmet will post. Looks interesting.
