Made it to my first ever meeting of the South Florida Underwater Photographer's Society (or something like that). What an amazing experience to be amongst that much talent in one room. Quite intimidating. The most bizarre aspect to me, though, was having so many folks be "nice" to me. A totally unique experience. :D

It really was great to put faces to a lot of names, especially to a number of the bridge trolls whom I had only met previously via the interwebs. Great folks all. Super to hear about Fisheyeview's successful battle. Congrats! I also see why the crusty one enjoys the "J's" so much. :D

Diving the bridge all this week. *Trying* to make enough progress with image processing, but the OCD thing seems to be a bigger problem than I'm able to handle. I *did* do one pic this morning so as to prove that I've now seen a jawfish with eggs. Gonna go back and waste some more electrons on him today, should anyone care to see him, too. . .

Great pic Kevin. When you introduced yourself to the club last night I turned to Jenny and Jet and asked them "is that mntlblok"? It was great talking to you during the break.

Don't let the members intimidate you. When my exwife and I went to our first SFUPS meeting 15 years ago we were shooting Sea & Sea MX10 film cameras. We called them out Fisher Price cameras.

The lecture that night was about the different color temperature outputs of the different strobes. We kept looking at each other asking "what the $%^& did we get ourselves in to"? We stayed because the people were so nice to us.View attachment 118477

Jet,

It was great seeing you at the meeting last night. Can't wait to be back at the bridge.

You too! What an unexpected pleasant surprise! And just think: you're getting back to the bridge just in time to find those elusive frogfish!

LOL that's what my ex called my first camera - Fisher Price! It was one of those Ikelite housings for disposable cameras with a strobe. White, red and yellow! Took pretty good pics actually...

Thanks! Madeleine Peyroux. Quote from jet126

She is going to be at the Jacksonville Jazz Fest in May. I liked her voice as well, so googled the lyrics. Another singer you both might find interesting is Kat Edmonson, my first impression of her was that she too has a Billie Holiday-like quality!!!

How interesting! And freakishly coincidental. I mean, it's not like she's exactly mainstream. I mention her and now she's coming to Florida in another month.

Fluffing

When I watched him yesterday, I noted that he would occasionally "fluff" the eggs three or four times in succession. Went back today and made an effort to catch that action with both stills and video. Had "some" success. Here's the first one I've gotten to.
