Former Vice President Al Gore was seen this weekend taking his OW training at Pennyroyal Dive Resort in Hopkinsville, KY

at least Al doesn't have his mask on his forehead......

I mean, can you imagine if he did that.... all the discussion and controversy that would cause... :shocked2:

He's preparing for Global Warming when all the Ice Shelfs melt.......Really just read his scientific based book.:D

While I am not an Al Gore fan, his celebrity in the area of environmental awareness would be HUGE for the dive community. (If that is really him!) I hope he loves diving and gets behind things like Project Aware and other important projects to preserve our underwater environment (and playground). Maybe he can also communicate with the current administration about opening up Cuba to diver tourism. Is anyone besides me anxious for open and simple travel to Cuba???

Al Gore invented scuba diving ... :D

I'm not an Al Gore fan either, but good for him. I hope he learns a lot and has fun.

if he's just now taking his Open Water Training, I wonder if he wasn't certified on this diving trip in 1992? :idk:

Vice President-elect Al Gore and his family went scuba diving and explored the coral reef off the Florida Keys Friday.

The Gores arrived Tuesday at Little Palm Island, a resort about 28 miles northeast of Key West, and they've been sunbathing, para-sailing and learning to scuba dive, said Joe Roth, a general partner of Little Palm Island.

"He told me the whole idea behind the vacation was to be able to spend some quality time with (wife) Tipper and the children," Roth said. "He seems quite impressed with the resort and the seclusion we've been able to provide."

Depends on whether or not he's been diving since then. If not, then taking the class over again is the right thing to do ... it ain't like riding a bicycle, yanno ...

Could have done a resort course then.
