Option #5: My wife doesn't ask and doesn't care so long as she can get the stuff she wants.

I have to agree with Rhone Man on this one. My wife has never really cared what I spend. But now, after 11 years of me diving, she is finally getting certified! So now she has a little more insight into the costs, but had a complete set of gear ready for her to dive. The only slightly awkward question was, "How many regulators do you have?" :rofl3:

We both dive and we have an "arrangement".

I buy gear for myself and tell her what it costs....she b*tches at me for spending too much money. She then looks at what I got, and decides she needs it too. But it's my fault for buying it in the first place. Repeat.

It's the circle of life. :D

Janet manages the LDS I work at, and knows better than I do what stuff costs. Actually, I'm the clueless one...

All the best, James

We both dive so my wife knows exactly what everything costs

I confess to not having read the previous pages of posts...but there is/was someone on this board who had a saying below his signature: "When I die, don't let my wife sell my scuba gear for what I told her I paid for it." (!!) I shared that line with my wife (who could use the same line about her clothes) and she loved it.

That's been my line for a while.

My wife's response "There's a reason that DIVORCE comes right after DIVING in the Yellow Pages."

Unfortunately my wife is the company accountant so she knows if I bought a burger at Mcdonalds. That said she's as hooked on scuba as I am so its easy to "justify" expenses

Tell me about it I married an accounting major.

I use sex to manipulate him to stay home with the kids so I can go diving..... I am going straight to hell, but at least it might be easier starting at 6 ata.

I have no idea how much the stuff I use costs. He's an IANTD and PADI instructor. He has everything. So when I want to change something, he just goes to the back bedroom and out it comes. The only thing diving that I bought is my new drysuit. The old one really wore out. So my stuff looks a little old but I really like it.
