Greetings SilverNU and I am speaking for me, IMO, and experience I have found Nitrox to do two things.
First it allows me more bottom time and I run most my dives on 1.4 ppo.
It just takes a little calculation to determine best mix and I am diving.
Lately I have just been using 32% for most of my diving to 100' while training.
When I am wreck diving I always run best mix calculations.

Secondly I feel less fatigue when I dive Nitrox and that is a fact.
When I am planning two serious wreck dives with maximum bottom times it makes a big difference. Now bear in mind I am breaking into the advanced dives not full blown TECH dives but very close. There is a little deco but no more than 10 to 15 min.
I am Adv. Nitrox / Deco. certified so I watch deco times very carefully.
What I have found with advanced dive planning I can minimize deco with Nitrox and solid down to earth realistic dive plans. When you enjoy the max bottom times with reasonable deco stops what more can you ask for?

Nitrox is just another tool as has been already mentioned. It can be very dangerous if improperly used and training for its use is a necessity.
For multiple dives it is my choice every time! When I get out of the water I feel so much less fatigue.

CamG Keep diving....Keep training....Keep learning!

Less fatigue after a no-stop nitrox dive. Isn't placebo great!

I originally ask this questions because I was planning a dive for a wreck that was 75-110 ft.

I am AOW certified (supposedly for a recommended 100 ft). I doubt the extra 10 ft will bother me in this case (or I will just stay above it).. but the divemaster told me if I could before I came back (months away) to get my nitrox cert. to extend my bottom times a little.

thanks for all the info so far.. ;)

Yes it would but not by that much. The issue here is also what tables you are going to use. Some are a little more forgiving than others. Lets say 100 FSW on air is 20 min NDL while EAN 32 may be 25 min NDL. EAN really shines in the shallower depths. 60 FSW on air is about 60 min NDL (Navy tables) while EAN 32 my be between 75-90

20->25 = 25% increase
60->75 = 25% increase

(90 minutes? Is that 20% advantage added to the USN Air table?)

I recommend you take the course and all your questions will be answered, and yes depending on the depth there are some big advantages to diving with Nitrox over Air.

Unless it isn't a placebo...
Until it receives some scientific evidence, it is a placebo - even tho popular with some. I never noticed a difference; I nap well after air or Nx.

Lol, that's not how science works!
Anecdotal evidence is not science. What science do you think supports your stand...?
