I will be there with Maneater, Vix and Hammerhead. I verified with Ginnie that we have the location and pavillion for the weekend. I haven't seen anything from da fool about firewood. I'm trying to get my truck running again. If all else fails, I can load the jeep down at the castle with some smaller firewood and bring it over. I'll get with Ginnie at check-in to make sure we get a huge grill for Saturday at the pavillion. I also have the fire circle gear , and the rum tote. I have a few things for the swap meet also.

:confused:Trebuchet:confused: Oh please, please, please....

:fallmega:

where is there to dive there really besides the caverns and caves? I got my cavern cert done there and was told the cavern areas were kinda limited and the river section was poor for diving..

Just curious, as I might go, being new to the board and what not.

the drift dive from devil's to...what, guys, deer? dogwood?...whatever spring we get out at is great. the galaxy dive is a not-to-be-missed experience. ginnie cavern is the best of the three caverns, imo, but i love the run at devil's. i love to watch the bubbles and the hogchokers.

but, ok, the real fun is the campfire. and the trebuchet.

Well, it is official. The Fool clan will be in attendance. The firewood is iffy, depending upon getting the little truck worthy for that long of a drive loaded with firewood. We will also bring some extra breakfast fixin's, along with the now-obligatory propane tank and burner, plus the big stockpot for the MegaOmelets.

Updated list of whos whos and whats whats... everyone please add your name even if your not sure what your bringing so we can get a head count.

MontanaFL, Scorpion2012 and nephew - Tortillas for breakfast, Ziploc freezer bags, 2-3 bags of chicken breasts.
ScubaJenny & Hermit Crab - S'mores fixins and other stuff...
NetDoc & MsElenaous - Matta Ewes, and fried chicken.
Heath Sapp - 100 hamburgers, a possible wild (but hopefully dead) pig, Rum for Jen-ny and some Jack.

A large bag of charcoal, 1 lg pkg. of brats., 1 lg pkg. of hot dogs and buns and my famous baked beans. Then for brkft, 18ct eggs, precooked bacon, sausage and ham, and some asst veggies for the omelets.

Joystershell and Megamikey - Megamuffins, 1 or 2 gals. of OJ, eggs, cheese for the burgers and potato salad.

2 -3 pkgs. of Buns for hamburgers (Heath Sapp is bringing the meat.)
Eggs (We never seem to have enough.)
Items for the omelets (additional meats, peppers, mushrooms, onions, salsa etc.)
Charcoal (selfstarting)
Condiments (ketchup, mustard, mayo, bbq sauce)
Side dishes (potato salad, macaroni salad, cole slaw, chips and dips/salsa, fruit salad,
veggie platter, fruit, etc.)
Deserts (Oh please don't forget the deserts!)
Small plates (no styrofoam please) and extra plastic silverware for deserts.
Pumpkins (for carving and don't forget a candle)
Tiki torches and fuel (for around the fire)
Trick or Treat candy (for the kids big and small.)
And if anyone can bring firewood, that would be greatly appreciated!:gas:

So just pick something to bring and add your name to the list.
Hope this helps!

Cavern diving is by definition a little limiting, which is why God created Intro to Cave and Cave certs! :D

Still, in the larger scheme of things, while each cavern at Ginnie may be a little limiting each one is unique and when taken in total it offers a lot for a cavern diver. Individually, they are really not any less interesting that Little River, Orange Grove, Hole in the Wall, Manatee, etc. They are not however as interesting as the caverns as PIII, Cow or Madison Blue.

As Marci noted, the run between the Ear, the Eye, the even Little Devil is interesting and the river makes for a good drift dive as long as there is no post flood tanic activity going on.

hey, all - my mama had an idea.

what do you say to bringing all your dive closet stuff & a little cash and we have a swap meet? i have some decent regs, a jane suit, a small sausage...you know, stuff i've upgraded or decided i don't need and it's taking up space. *you* might have something *i* want.

any takers?
Marci's mama will probbaly never have her own episode of "hoarders" so it's an evil plot to reduce the size of the dive locker.

That said, my dive locker is running the risk of getting it's own episode, so I'll plan on bringing a few items including but not limited to:

- XL Diamond drysuit in very good condition with recent seals, pee valve and halcyon pockets - it will need a new zipper before too long.

- Marci's new old stock Andys size large women's self entry dry suit.

- Marci's 40 pound Deep Outdoors wing (it's a crossover single/doubles wing as it has the inflator hose inlet off to the side rather than dead center, but it does make a really a good doubles wing and is great for stacking wings for offshore dou8bles diving when in a wet suit.

- Several Mk 3, 5, 10 and 15 first stages, ready to dive and a few equally ready to dive second stages, mostly D400's and 109/BA's but also possibly a couple X650's, so it's a chance to put together an inexpensive stage or deco reg. I'll bring some 40" hoses as well.

- Nearly new XXL Scubapro Jet Fins. The foot pockets are too large to actually dive with unless you have huge feet/boots, but they are still great as you can use them for shelter if it rains.

- A few used by still very good condition masks

yay! i get to meet helen!
