I'm young so I don't have much input but I have a friend that is in his late 70s and still dives regularly in New England. Not exactly easy resort/vacation diving. He says it's all in the mindset. His friends are all retired and sit on coach and do nothing. He has bad knees/hips but still finds time to dive locally and go on 3-4 dive trips a year.

I hope to be doing the same when I'm his age or possibly older.

funny.... OLD.. changes the older I get

My wife got certified 2 years ago when she was 74 years old. We still go diving regularly. Yeah, I help her out of the water, but that is just being a gentleman. People look at us funny when we pull into the handicapped parking space in front of the dive shop and she hangs her placard on the mirror.

She says, "You don't quit because you get old, you get old because you quit!"

I started at 17 and I'm 50 this year. If anything I'm diving more then ever. As previously mentioned, you need to take care of yourself. It's wise to do that anyway. I ride bicycles when I'm not diving. I've been getting 150 miles a week in lately. That does wonders for me.
Cousteau dove well into his 80's. Falco is still diving(I think). I'm sure I have many, many dives left in me.

I'm 63 and have been using SCUBA since you were born. It's never too late if you keep yourself in reasonable shape and don't dive past your limits. I know divers who are active into their 80s and know of others active into their 90s.

My only issue is cataloging all the signs and symptoms of DCS I have before I get in the water so I don't scare myself when I get out.

I may be old but I’m not dead yet.

I'm 51 in a couple of weeks, no idea how that happened!
Did both my deepest ever dive and deepest cave dive this year.
I like padding deco but thats a good idea at any age.

Shared a room a couple of years ago with a guy in Cayman. He was 71. Had the time and money to enjoy himself, even with an artificial hip. His short term goal was Hypoxic Trimix on his rebreather.
