As of NOW We still have MOST of our Dive Sites OPEN and OIL FREE to the east including the Oriskany.
We at GGD as well as the other Dive Charter Operators will keep up with where the oil is and will NOT put anyone in oil.
Call us at 251/747-6563 to book the Cat-N-Around or we will refer you to other Boats to fulfill your diving needs.

got a report today from Dr. Dive over in P-Cola, he said the Russian Freighter was Oil Free top to bottom and loaded with fish.

Saw somebody at Dive Pros early this afternoon who had speared a huge Red Snapper on the Russian Freighter this morning.

I dove Ft. Pickens Friday and Saturday and was at the Destin Jetties all morning today. Visibility hasn't been spectacular, but no signs of oil on or under the water at either location. Fingers crossed, knock on wood!

Thanks for the info. Planning on diving the "O" Friday, hope nothing changes.

Are there bad fumes in the area? I was supposed to dive the O around June 17th, but I canceled after hearing about the tarballs.

I know boats and divers going out to the O every day and no one has complained and said there is no sign of oil... You should schedule your trip again! :)

So the oil is there. Even if it hurts revenue, consumers would rather know the truth.

I was at the beach all Sunday, with pools of oil and tar balls on the beach. Nobody in the large group I was with could smell the oil, despite the fact that it specled the beaches. Maybe if you were in the middle of the crude, it'd be a different story.

Are you insinuating that posters here are misleading anyone?
