Awesome Cowery. I saw a nice Flounder at Ft. Pickens...sure did want to stick him and put him in some hot grease!

Took a while for my ankle to heal after the Great Barrier Reef diving trip, and while I've been diving this month, the vis has been so bad that I did not like most of my pictures. Sure, could post a lot of flounder head shots.. but seen one, seen them all.

Awesome shots as Usual Jim.....Very, Very Jealous of your Nudi shots!

Barry, all you have to do is dive every chance you get for several decades and one day you will get lucky (ok, that is the method I used). Or you could keep track of the bottom water temperature, as that is what determines the day (give or take several days)..

Got the big O on Sat... Monday is with scubatech (off the Miss Teak... as the sea cobra is just sitting there)... just need to find a place for Sunday.

Thanks by the way.

I should finally get to shoot some wide angle stuff on the Big O, heard the vis is very good right now.

Which big O?

Bugman... there is more than one?????

our huge aircraft carrier...I think we have three so far from up here going out of Scubashack...

You dive out of Destin all the time, didn't know if you were talking about the original "Big O", the Ozark. Its a deep tech dive out of Destin... dunno if you do that kinda stuff. Not shallow like the Oriskany.

Just askin.

You do lots of recreational dives, so I figured the Oriskany. You've been diving forever, so I thought maybe you do occassionally dabble in tech stuff, and possibly hit the other, original Big O, coming out of Destin.

:rofl3:Thanks, yea, I know the Ozark, but been a while since I've heard of anyone going there.

I will be on trimix Sat, but just going to the flight deck, as they want $50 more if you do a deco dive....and it costs a fair amount to start with.

Diving changed when they changed the rules for boats/captains. Used to be fairly common to go to the timber holes, now, no one has a commercial license out that far.

Oddly, I don't dive much out to the Pensicola area, even though there are several other really nice dive spots. Bet I have more dives off of Mobile ... odd.

And while I know it might seem like I have been diving off Destin for forever, it has actually only been... ah...44 years...oh, that might be forever for some here... nevermind.

Pensacola/Orange Beach has more dive spots than anywhere else in the Northern Gulf Coast :)

Boats still goto the Timberholes, and several other natural reef sites.

There's currently a live aboard planning a trip to the Ozark in the near future, actually, I think they're diving the Oriskany on the same trip. There are a few smaller charters that run out to the Ozark from the Destin area, but they aren't affiliated with any dive shops.

44 years is more than a lifetime! :D
