Yes, It's the same with my Epoque wal. As with all underwater Photography, get close and then get closer.:D

The videos always get some out of focus sections in the corners when I do any amount of zoom with the camera. ... The only way to get a clear image is to zoom out completely.

This is what INON blog saying (http://inonnews.blogspot.com/2009/07/video-base-v1-for-canon-vixia.html):

"The UWL-100 Achromat Type2 is originally designed for a digital camera carrying 1/1.8 inch image sensor (CCD etc.), approx. 7mm focal length at zoom wide end (35mm film equivalent : 35mm) and approx. 3x zoom lens,
and not designed for a digital camcorder iVIS HF20 which carries 1/4 inch image sensor, 4.1mm focal length (35mm film equivalent : 39.5mm) and 15x zoom lens.
Our detailed compatibility test has confirmed that there is significant degradation of image quality on circumference part of an image comparing to compatible digital camera, so "compatibility is limited" only for those can accept below sample images/movies quality."

So are there any underwater WALs that will not cause serious serious distorting with the WPV1 case? It seems that the Epoque, Ikelite W20 and Inon UWL-100 do have the problem...

So you guys never zoom when using the WAL?

Hi
I try not to zoom. The less water between the subject and the lens the better.

I am never zoom with WAL, if I need to zoom by some reason, then I simple take WAL off housing.

Ugh, just when I'm ready to pull the trigger, everyone is out of stock on the WP-V1. Let me know if anyone finds one.

Since they have stop manufacturing wp-v1, should i buy wp-v2 and try to use it with hf200 or should i try to find me a wp-v1.

Is it possible to use all the accessories for wp-v2 for wp-v1?

The $700 Ikelite housing is an option. Bigger, heavier and more expensive. But it comes with a filter, handles better, more sturdy, and has mounting points for lights.
