What will you pack?

Spare battery for a dive computer is a good idea to me but then I take everything I can. Anyway, there are a number of different sizes for various brands, and round quarter size could any one of a few. CR2450, CR2032, CR2030 seem to be popular from LP's computer battery listings altho I get my cheaper on Ebay, but whichever - with the right number from the old one, I would think they could found. How much trouble it would be to chase one down would be the question. They are tiny, light, and inexpensive so if your is a year old or more, yeah replace or carry.

My CO detector also uses CR2450. Got one at Radio Shack in a hurry for $5, but then got 5 from Hong Kong for $2 5 PCS CR2450/DL2450/LM2450 3V Cell Battery - eBay (item 320483898863 end time Mar-06-10 00:33:09 PST) Need to take an o-ring by the hardware store and get some like it.

Then I got to FIBR Roatan and needed a 9v for my Nitrox analyzer.

I buy CR2032 in bulk (dealextreme.com if you don't mind waiting a few weeks for delivery) and at least a 36 pack of AAs and AAAs. I have a lot of rechargables here at home but found it is general a waste to take them. As for the rest of my gear? Well, let's just say Delta allows two checked bags and a carry on and I weigh everything at home before risking it at the airport.
oh, I have found a folding two-wheeler (dolly whatever you call them) stashed in the top of my foot locker works great. As soon as you grab the footlocker pull out the dolly, unfold it and throw everything on top. Works great for hauling at least 90lbs of vacation related junk through the airport.

I have a couple of rolling Igloo ice chests that my wife and I use as luggage. They work great for protecting gear, roll easily through airports, provide lockable storage in the room and work great for icing down beer, and I can bring frozen fish back to Austin in them.

We usually bring some stuff down that we won't be bringing back, like a whole bunch of batteries.

NOBODY had them. I would up going without and tagging along on my daughter's computer

This is a great reason to have redundant gear like a bottom timer and dive watch.
Also a great reason to take spare batteries.
It is very ill-advised to dive off someone elses dive computer. Not a very safe tactic at all. Please dont take this negatively maybe you just didnt know how unsafe it is and I would hate to read about your accident as a result of this practice, I know it doesnt happen all the time but there are safer alternatives. kevin

I take an alarm clock, save a dive kit, includes aqua-seal for tears in wetsuit. I bring a lined wind resistant waist coat for the ride back on the boat if it is chilly, they dry quickly. Ocean bio sun-block. Make sure regs are serviced. Take plenty of one dollar and 5 dollar bills for tipping. Take photo copies of my visas, drivers lic., credit cards. Need photo copies to change money to pesos and most banks, not the cambios(they give less exchange).
If you want to do something really cool, go to your dentist and see if he/she will donate some toothbrushes to the less fortunate on Coz. Your dive shop will know where to take them. have a great time kevin

I always take a back up dive computer, and my girl friend if she can make it. All the clothes I'm tired of, and I give them away when I leave. Also a great way to get rid of my excess dive gear... Live from Cozumel trip No.15
