Anyone else with a Uwatec Aladin Tec 2G?

First dive computer... got it in the 3-gauge console w/ the pressure gauge on the back. I have a few questions about it...

1. I've read about some reliability issues in a previous thread. Any updates?

2. Is the quick disconnect something standard on these or is it dealer installed?

I have the wrist mount version that I use in gauge mode and I love it, no complaints

I've used one wrist mounted as a backup to my primary computer and have had no problems with it (other than my aging eyes and the small numbers).

There was a batch of Aladins that had some battery life problems. For original owners these were all replaced by ScubaPro at no charge. For at least two years I have not seen any problems. Mine has been very reliable.

The computer has been available with any of several mounts. Wrist mount, console mount, console mount with quick release. The computer "puck" is identical and can be moved to any of the mounts. Your SP dealer can get you whatever part you need get the mount the way you want it. So you answer your second question, it could have been delivered in the QR console, or the dealer could have ordered the console later. My guess is that it came in the QR console.

No reliability problems with mine. I guess I've done maybe 150 dives with it so far. Not sure about your second question as I have the wrist setup.

I can't see mine even with mask gauge readers. The average age of divers is now well into the 40's. Wiskey Tango Foxtrot!

I have the same unit, with about 140 dives on it. I love it! easy to read, comfortable, very durable. Still on the same battery , i have the console version of it. Switching over to console due to Fundies in Summer.

Mine probably has about 200 dives on it without a glitch and still on the original battery. I've used it in both computer and gauge mode and been very happy with it.

I have had mine for over a year and no problems. Even my old eye can still read the numbers.

Wrist mount here. First I love the device, which I use in both computer and gauge mode. My only complaint is that I've had a problem or two with the computer not turning off no matter how much I rinse, shake and dry it (out of the mount), especially in very humid conditions. Annoying and a bit of a battery burner, but no issue underwater.
