My business card says Ph.D., and so does my name tag at the fire department...but here, why bother? I'd rather be known for my contributions.

Some would say what you do in life defines who you are. The level of comraderie, pride, and 'brotherhood' is rarely found in professions outside of civil service jobs (Fire, Police) and military. I believe I have the greatest job in the world and wouldn't trade it for anything, not many people can say that.
I notice that even chiropractors and opthamologists refer to themselves as "Doctors" in the US, which all looks a little bit aggrandising to the European eye. Not trying to troll (I know there are plenty of them on the board), but just sayin'.
At least Duke lost again the other night, too.
