DiverLS, you go, girl! See you in Mexico!

2009 it's been a fun diving year, but I hope to be able to dive more next year...

January => Escaped the cold and dived in FLD, my first drift dives, that was nice.
February/Mars => Ice Diving Certification, got my own dry suit
April/May => As soon as the ice cleared we were back in the St-Lawrence for more dives
June => Some lake/St-Lawrence dives, finally got a computer
July => Keys!!!!!! Spiegel!!!! That was awesome
August/September => Back to the St-Lawrence
October => All work and no diving makes Atom a dull boy ; )
November => Little trip to Les Escoumins!!! That was awesome, and since we were out of season (37F water, colder outside, air station closed) we had the whole place to ourselves (we found an hotel with an air station that didn't mind filling for us even in november)
December => Playa Del Carmen, IANTD Cavern course + cenotes and reef dives... wow!

That cavern course will end up costing me a lot of money since I really want to follow through on that and go to full cave (more gear to buy + trips in the future for me I guess). In the meantime I'll get a reel/spool, a long hose and proper fins and I'll keep practicing the kicks and proper trim/buoyancy/positionning/line manipulation, since I felft that while I wasn't a total disaster it wasn't good enough for the next classes.

This year I made dive buddies and logged only 8 dives. I plan on diving more next year and improving my buoyancy control when crossing the thermocline. I'd like to purchase my BC finally next year.

I moved to Saipan in August, got certified in October and have 24 dives in two months. For 2010, I hope to dive Palau and get as many dives as I can here.

OW certified in September. 25 dives since then. Not to shabby. December will involve mostly reading for my AOW course, though I would like to throw some diving in there too. For 2010 I hope to complete AOW and possibly Rescue. Then see where I go from there

What a year:

1. Cert dives in June
2. Created a training timeline to get me to AOW and Nitrox and feeling comfortable in just about any dive environment.
3. 67 dives later . . . just finished diving Vande, Duane etc in Key Largo . . did Morehead and St. Lawrence in September . . Jersey in October . . .
4. No longer intimidated but still very respectful of what a challenging awesome thing scuba is.

Looking forward to hitting 100 dives by end of May . . . .

Ok where do I start.
I went from open water certified with 4 dives to Master Diver.
Started DM classes.( didn't get to far)
Found about tech diving and have been having a ball.

2010

Alot of fun diving. Finishing my DM and finsishing tech courses

I finally gave up the game of golf, hell, I left it in the dust! And I re-kindled my love for diving that I sorta lost interest in back in 2002 due to being busy with school and finding a job and settling into my career.

1. Got new regulator, octo, wetsuit, Sealife DC1000 Elite camera kit, and a load of other fun and useful items.
2. I joined my local dive club and made some new friends and hooked up with a few old friends.
3. **I got to do my first liveaboard on the Kona Aggressor II in August!**
4. As a bonus I got to go on a business trip to Tampa, Florida (a week before my Kona trip) and I met up with a buddy of mine and we dove Key Largo for the weekend - thank goodness I did this otherwise I wouldn't have realized my strobe needed fixing until I went to Kona!
5. I got my digital underwater specialty while on the Aggressor.
6. I also took a family trip up to Whidbey Island, WA and while there I got my drysuit specialty - even though I live in Hawaii I REALLY dig the Puget Sound area, I can't wait to go back - you guys have got some AWESOME diving up there.

2010 goals:
1. Get my Nitrox specialty
2. Get my Rescue Diver Specialty
3. Apr 23-May 3, Star Dancer, Papua New Guinea - it's gonna rock! Might try to get my underwater naturalist specialty while on board - not sure yet.
4. Try to get my wreck specialty with my local dive club - if I do all the above classes I'll have my Master Scuba Diver rating.
5. Reserve and pay for my January 2011 trip on the Palau Aggressor II

Heck, I'm already looking at dive trips for 2011! Palau for sure and the Galapagos Islands I think!

I love this thread!

1. Replaced all of my original gear after it was ruined in a car accident (thanks to the other driver's insurance company).

2. First trip to Cozumel!

3. Started DiveCon class.
