I knew someone would come up with Chlorine Gas. However, it is not a natural gas and has to be manufactured. I guess I should have said, "Natural gasses are colorless." Helium, Oxygen, and Nitrogen are definately colorless.

For the OP, as far as I know, no one has standardized a color to be used on a tank sticker for Tri-Mix.

Hmmmmm, last time I checked the periodic chart, Chlorine was a natural element. :shakehead:

Just thinking here..

So if one thinks of diving with air, we normally go with the red & white dive color.

If we dive out of country, it's the blue & white international color..

If we go nitrox, than it's green & yellow...

has anyone come up with a Trimix color yet?

There are two different flags used to signify that there are divers in the area.

Other than that, you can't trust any colors or labels on any tanks. all you can trust is what you analyze, and only right before you use it.

Enough said, I will concede that chlorine is an element and a gas and normally it is a yellow - green color. However breathing it while diving is not recommended. Actually breathing it any time is not recommended.

well that just goes to show you that people on this thread can not figure anything out.
Sooo...let me spell it out in plan English with all the bells and whistles so the baby's can understand it..Oh and by the way DennisW did answer my question...THANK YOU!!

Barring any other BS you want to read into this, this is what it is.

1. A flag that is Red w/ Diagonal white stripe / top left to bottom right = Diver Down..USA..we can make a logical jump that the diver/s are using AIR

2. A flag that is blue-and-white swallow-tailed = the International Code of Signals has established it to mean: "I have a diver down; keep well clear at slow speed." once more we can make the logical jump that since it is international gas type is irrelevant.

3. Now since someone / somebody / some organization created a flag that is lime green w/ Diagonal yellow stripe / top left to bottom right = Diver Down..USA..we are told it to mean Nitrox, I really do not care if it is being flown at dive sites or not, if you use it or not, if you acknowledge it as a flag or not!! that's not in question. but what is is the fact that we do have a nitrox flag! bitch and argue all you want but that fact is true.

4. now here we go, just for the baby's..we can breath basically from three forms of gas...(keyword here (basically)) O / N / He. and this is what we call in the diving world as a trimix blended gas. and as DennisW has stated no one has come up with a color whether in the form of a sticker, patch or even a flag!
Now as I stated before "I really do not care if you would fly it at dive sites or not, if you would use it or not, if you acknowledge it as a flag or not!! that's not in question. but what is is the fact that we do have a nitrox flag! and someone will make a trimix flag soon. bitch and argue all you want but that fact is true.

This is a poor assumption. This flag has no bearing on what gas they use.

The ALPHA (Blue and White) flag actually MEANS - the VESSELS are restricted in their ability to maneuver (due to diving operations). Some boats that are not diving, but have limited maneuverability may fly Alpha (like a survey vessel)

I think that's just a t-shirt. It's not an official flag of any kind.

If you just want a T-Shirt or a sticker - then knock yourself out. But if you're going "for the record"...

Here, since you ignored it in the earlier posts.... DIVE FLAGS HAVE NOTHING TO DO WITH THE GAS SOMEONE IS BREATHING!!

Perhaps the OP's posts could be considered flaming or disrespect as well. :shakehead:

You have a lot of bold and underlined words for something you don't care about.
