Oh good lord...just noticed your avatar! The masses have now descended to my thread.

Oh behave!!:D

:blinking: Surely I have no idea what you are talking about

Nope, I have the ala carte, wings, straps, backplate, weight pockets etc. It was cobbled together at a dive shop in Sacramento. That is why I never mess with taking anything off. I would never be able to get it back the same way.

Hmmm, sounds like a Transpac if the "plate" is soft. I used to dive one.

Yes, it is Transpac. I sent a link about 30 posts ago as requested when things were nice and slow around these here parts.

Then the buzzards started circling for their prey!

what buzzards? I hate when buzzards dive bomb . . .

You have integrated weights on it :hm: maybe go to a weight belt, and put actual pockets on your transpac :D

Yes, it is soft compared to the metal type plates I was seeing with Halcyon wings on the cenote dives.

Oh lord, I am not a big fan of weight belts. But, it may be a consideration.

Now, buzz off!:D

 I was actually being helpful!! :D :mooner:

I guess DandyDon must be out on his tractor. Look forward to his posts soon.

Ohhh noes.......

So, if you have a plate... look at one of these....

A, it provides some padding to the plate, and B> provides a nice pocket, perfect for a 50lb lift bag... clip a 50-100' spool off on a d-ring, and your set for anytime you want to surface away from a flag.....

Get some practice someplace shallow before shooting from any significant depth... and don't be afraid to just let it go if it feels like its getting away from you.... simple and elegant... going for a reel offers more likely-hood of jams and more $$$ anyway...
