oo oo! I wanna play. You could always come live with me. Villa life in Kuwait. Free boats(mine), and quick ride to the Red Sea, or Phillipines, or Thailand, or Maldives....... hhhmmmmm.

well you have any openings for me :D

There is nothing to do in Jupiter except dive, go to Wal-Mart, and hang out with my ex-spouse who lives there. VERY sleepy town. If I were retired (my ex- retired young upon our divorce) I might live there but working... :shakehead:

So are you saying you cant find work there  or that you wont live there because of the Ex or that you dont want to drive more than 1/2 hour to party

:rofl3::rofl3::rofl3:

:peepwalla:

John, the ex- and I get along...it's #1 and #3 and...Jupiter is BOOOO-RINGGGGGG. Beautiful but boring. The ex and I actually considered moving up there together at one point, but there were no jobs to be had. It's a place for retirees and migrant farm workers.

Deb
Its all in what you like I would think if you are moving for quality of life you wouldn't want to live where there is traffic and congestion  I would rather drive a half hour when I wanted to city life then living there full time so i guess you could say i think quiet is good :cool2: and talk about migrant workers when I am in your neck of the woods they talk to me in Spanish first :rofl3::rofl3:

There you go John, it's all about choices. I drive 10 minutes to work and 3 minutes to the beach. I never lived in a city before moving to Fort Lauderdale but I do so love it. There is SO MUCH to do here within ten minutes of home.

Sam I would love to have you here in the Keys. But I just could not do that to ya

1. Prices are still to high
2. Taxes and Insurance eat you alive
3. There is no night life except Key West and that would get old really fast
4. We have NO MALL :depressed:
5. Being single is no fun here. The only men here are married or rich single men but trust me when I say there is a reason they are single. You don't want them:shakehead:
6. The way the bugs like you would have no blood left after a month here and smell like deet all the time. :rofl3:
7. You may have to travel to Miami for Doctors visits. Depends on your insurance and if the Doctors have a slot open for new Pt.
8. I could go on but I think this is enough for now.

On the good side we have great diving here:D

Good luck on your search

Fort Lauderdale 100%. You'll also realize that tons of people from NYC have or are doing the exact same thing you are. Housing market is in your favor and Fort Lauderdale is a great place to buy! Not as busy as NYC but you'll definitely love it.

There is plenty to do here. Surfing, Fishing, Diving, Walking on the beach. Good parks that are free or pretty cheap. Tons to do if you like to be outside.

Plenty of shopping nearby, plenty of decent restaurants, movie theaters, etc.

What does it lack that is so alluring in FLL??

Good-paying jobs. I mentioned above that my former spouse and I considered moving up there but we couldn't make a decent living at our professions. Also, there are a lot more festivals, theater, concerts, etc. in FLL and nearby Miami, but you could always drive the couple of hours down from Jupiter to attend those.
