yeah yeah yeah, like we are gonna let her leave... Remember this is Dive NY. "every time i think i'm out... they pull me back in".

Sam, as a NY girl I think you'll miss the city enough that Miami or Fort Lauderdale will be your best bets for everyday living.

There you go. FLL it is. You can visit Miami.

FLL roll out of bed and be at any boat in 30minutes from pompano to boyton:D

I moved to the FLL area 30 years ago and never looked back.

Sam I'd go south :)

But for serious divers, south florida is it.

Sam...

Won't you be my neighbor? :D

Leave me alone Mary. What do you know? You like Hockey. Its just one step above ice skating.:rofl3:
I'm just kidding. I am actually a fan of Hockey myself.

Yea HN it's just above ice skating - take that  **Miss now hiding behind Ken**

Yeah, they're called tourists. Floridians avoid Orlando like the plague.

Sam, I concur, but most of the rest of the state has something cool.

Sam, take me with you ...
I've met some cool folks here in SoCal, but cold water and earthquakes..Yikes :shakehead:.

I am homesick for FL turf & FL friends, having grown up in Jacksonville. I loved living in KL. (I'm a :dork2: wondering why I left KL). Life is cheaper and slower paced up in No FL cave country, but you can't beat the So FL coast. At least with hurricanes you have a 3 day warning from the Weather Channel, not so with earthquakes.

XOXO,
Sam's future roommate :D
Amazing the turn that this thread took, I gained a roommate yet have no idea where we are living....:rofl3:

I'm not leaving, ya gotta look at it as I'm setting up Dive NY South, so DNYers can visit and have a place to stay. :D

Sam...Won't you be my neighbor? :D

A new roommate and a new neighbor...:rofl3: I know I'm gonna LOVE Florida.

Sam, are you allergic to cats and dogs? I have a 3 bedroom house. Just sayin'...

and Orlando, OMG, I won't go to my profession's annual conference when it is in Orlando...what a hell hole. 20 degrees hotter than Key Largo and the drivers are all homicidal maniacs. You can't walk without suffering through a timeshare solicitation. On one hand, housing in Orlando is CHEAP. But you get what you pay for. I'd live in an efficiency in FLL before I'd live in a 3-bedroom home in Orlando.

Sam-

Congratulations. It was a wise choice taking the position in Florida rather than the one in Utah. :shakehead:

Hope you enjoy the sales spiels you're going to get now. Just remember, the Florida housing market is in a depression right now. Don't give them any more than 50% of the asking price. :rofl3:

Hope you like it down there.

It's a good thing I started the recon early cause it seems I have a lot to consider. I appreciate all the posts and will consider all the points raised here cause I'm taking notes.

Proximity to divng, friends, traffic jams, employment, tourists, earthquakes...oh, wrong state, distance to fave bartender, no basement so where do I bury the bodies, shopping, restaurants, cot in garage for Hockey,

Profession is not a big consideration because I will gladly give up the high pressure stressful pace of my current situation.

Keep the opinions and the suggestions coming cause it will force me to think about them, address them and prioritize their importance on my newly formed criteria list.
