Although at least one days rest would be nice, we are planning to dive all three days. We're figuring we might as well get as many in as possible before the water temp drops too much :depressed: :)

How many is everyone else doing?

At the moment looking at diving Saturday and Monday. Conditions look like they will be good for a change, just hope the rain holds off :)

I'm going to try for two out of three days if the weather is ok.

So I am guessing sas has multiple buddies this weekend :rofl3:

We should run a poll on how many dives she will do this weekend ... I reckon at least 8 :doh2:

w00t! Hey we were thinking of diving Saturday and Sunday, does that suit? I am not fussed. One day I have to be back early though, so Dan does not feel neglected :)

One day we were thinking of Mornington Peninsula, the other day the Bellarine. That side is more weather affected though so waiting to see the weather...

I hope the wind holds, it has been zero for the last two days and will be zero again today. Viz was awesome last night and the water was like glass... so I am going again tonight :)

:lotsalove: Haha, no I am probably going to do two a day to make for four :) It is winter now so getting a third dive in is hard. I have gotten out for two midweek dives though!

What suit do you have now? You can get a drysuit :D And dive all winter! Though Sydneysiders have it easy temp wise ;)

Cool! I have been missing pics from petunia so I hope you can get out :)

Whoa Sas only four?! ;)

We'll be doing 6 to make the most of it. I'm hoping the VIS improves a lot on last weekend. We were out Saturday and Sunday and the best we had was maybe 5 metres.

Everyone has been saying Winter is the BEST for vis, but with all this rain i dont know if we're going to see it!

Starlet and i are wearing 7mm semi dry's (i think the paragon ones), they are pretty damn good for now but what we are more worried about is putting on wet gear after a days diving. We'll make sure we dive every weekend still, just drop back to one day..

Lucky! I have to pay *some* attention to my partner (he does not dive) so just two days diving for me ;)

Yes probably the start of winter and the end of winter are best as they have the least rain.

Yes putting on wet wetsuits is the worst >.< I have a dive skin I keep dry for a second or third dive, that way I am not so uncomfortable putting it back on. Or I try to put the suit on in a shower if I am near a site that has one :) When I dived with fish + petunia in Sydney they had these huge containers of water filled with warm water, it was *heaven* to tip over myself after a dive!

Cool, Have to be in the arvo on Sat (after 2pm) cause I can't convince the 'Leader of the Opposition' to do Auskick duty for me on Sat morning. Otherwise any time Sun or Mon.

Groovey. Anywhere wet will be fine with me. :D

Yes but we alway practice safe diving! Last time we went for a night dive I walked out of the house carrying a tube of ky-jelly. Wife looks at tube, then looks at me and so of course to put her mind at ease I say 'We have fun when we go diving!' :eyebrow:

Yeah, I would've gone with 6. Sas, you'll have a tail by the end of the year.:D

Now what in the world could you use KY Jelly for in scuba diving???

maybe on your neck and wrist seals :rofl3:

I'm making my first trip to Sydney this holiday weekend. Last weekend I dove Boston Harbor, Massachusetts with 10C water temps in two layers of 7mm wetsuit. I think that I'm prepared for a chilly Sydney dive.

What can I expect for Sydney? -- i.e. what are the good dive sites for open water divers and what companies/charters do you recommend?

Thanks!
Sherry
