I just booked our flight from GC to LC yesterday, and the agent said Caiman Air requires 1 1/2 hour minimum between your arrival in GC and your departure for LC.

LCBR in 8 days ... yay!! :D

It might apply to you Henrik, but hopefully not...

Both Twin Otter aircraft used to service Little Cayman are currently out of service for some unspecified problem. They are working to get another Twin Otter in on a short term lease in the next couple days.

In the meanwhile Cayman Airways has added additional jet service to Cayman Brac. Passengers traveling to and from Little Cayman are being ferried by boat between the Sister Islands.

You will be lucky if your otter leaves within 3 hours of its scheduled time if its Island Air. If its Cayman Airways it may be closer to scheduled time.

Thanks for the heads-up Drew. Hopefully 8 days will be enough to arrange for a more permanent, or at least time saving, solution.

AFAIK Island Air hasn't had scheduled service for years and only does charters.

That is right. Island Air only does charters. They no longer have aircraft of their own on the island.

Flight update...

The leased Twin Otter has arrived and service to Little Cayman resumed as of Friday evening May 1, 2009.

There may be some schedule changes, but the leased aircraft should remain until the maintenance work is completed on the others.

Thanks for the info Drew. I'll make sure to check that we're still good with our reservations.
