Has Andy tried chewing gum before a dive? I tried that the last few times I went out, and it made a significant difference in my clearing ability. I just start chewing about an hour before the first dive, and spit it out just before I'm ready to splash in.

Andy has tried every remedy we can think of. Steve Parker told me while we were at ABWA in February about an ENT in Birmingham that works with divers. Andy's problem seems to be smaller than normal eustean tubes. This doctor works with dive patients and there are exercises you can do to remedy this. We have just got to find some time when Andy isn't tied up with school to get him up there and let this doctor work with him.:)

I don't mind bringing food. The rule is that you have to cook it though. :D
Anyone else want to host the Sunday morning brunch? :)

I second the no cook motion. I intend to bring plenty of steaks, chops, weiners, and shrimps but I don't cook. Oh yeah I'm also bringing a mess of deer tenderloins and bacon to wrap it in if a hot grill is available. Nothing is as tasty as a bacon wrapped chunk of marinated Bambi hot off the fire.

I would volunteer to host Sunday brunch but it would have to be in my room......I did enough camping in the 70's to last what ever is left of my lifetime. Charlie don't surf and Docc don't camp.

I'll be down Thursday night and would love to dive anywhere and everywhere, but I'm not really certified to do much of anything. I'll bring my mask and snorkel and flippers just in case. And of course, I'll be bringing my camera.................Denise..............:D

I have never been to Vortex. Do they have grills on site or do we need to bring them? I don't mind cooking, but I also want to do allot of diving so I might need a little relief from cooking

I am with you on that note.

You can join us at the Destin Jetties on Friday morning if you want. I will be there on Thursday afternoon too.

Docc, Welcome to my campsite :D Let me clue you in on how this thing is done. You get both. A campsite and a room. The room is to stumble...ummm..I mean slumber in if and when you sleep.
Then you get a campsite to set up for diving, cooking, socializing, etc. The campsites have grills and picnic tables, electric hookups and water. Therefore, you and your food are more than welcome.:D I have alot of picnic stuff in my dive trailer, lights, fan, folding chairs and I have one of those pop up canopys and also a clothes line to hang gear etc.

And of course, I'll be bringing my camera.................Denise..............:D

Anyone entering my campsite will be frisked :D

Your site is right next to us. That gives us two grills between the two. I won't work you too hard though.

Darn it! I keep reading all these updates and threads and get even more bummed that I can't make it. :depressed: It appears that this Springfest is building up to be a doozy. Y'all have a great time and do a dive & drink for me!
See ya @ Vortoberfest! :lotsalove:

Well, you could always help me with the kabobs. Maybe pick up some shrimp to add to them. I went to a wedding reception a while back and they did them with steak, shrimp, cherry tomatoes, I forget what else but the marinating was what made them so good.

I will probably do some cave diving again on Saturday morning. Marianna is only an hour away and last year Jaime and Mat rode over with me, that is if anyone else is going. I haven't asked around yet. Who is going cavern/cave diving on Saturday?

Of course we have to dive Morrisons Friday afternoon and or Sunday.

I would love to go cave diving with y'all if you don't mind putting up with a brand new Intro cave diver :D

Congratulations!!! Of course you are welcome to join us!! We will get up early Saturday morning and leave for JB, do a couple of dives and be back in time to get ready and cook for Saturday evening.

Just come by my campsite #12 Friday afternoon and we'll see who all plans to cave dive and what time we will leave.:)

For the new folks, we always have Sunday brunch (people brunch is around 10am, not 8am) I always seem to miss this also as the night before tends to give me the need to sleep in a bit later. I wind up eating what is left over. We usually just do this at some one's campsite and everyone pitches in with eggs, bacon, sausage, etc. Martin has done it in the past but I haven't heard whether he is attending or not. Anyone else want to host the Sunday morning brunch? :)

Yes, Martin is coming. As far as I know, Sunday brunch is still on just like normal. It's tradition! We have to keep Flightlead chained to the picnic table, remember, Denise? Men need to know their place, lol.
So just plan to show up. Although, if ppl wouldn't mind bringing food, that would be appreciated. Does the normal omelettes, grits, bacon, etc work?
