Colour Coordination

My gear is all color coordinated...it's all black. Okay, my dry suit does have some white and gray in it. But that still matches the black...

I too can not get the "your not a real diver unless you where black" mentality that's sometimes expressed by others.
While I've never bought something just because of the color it came in, I can't say I don't look at the color if it's something I'm already interested in.

I like a little color and seemed to have fallen into a black/blue scheme, though my new wetsuit is all black as is my mask. But BC front panels and fins are blue.

The first set of gear I purchased was pretty much all black with a little blue and gray. That's what I purchased because that's what there was. Now that I've been diving for a few years and have dove in cold water (59 degrees) through warm water (90 degrees) with visability from 5 inches to 100 feet I've learned the value of bright colors.

Now, my wetsuits have a yellow accent to them and my new fins will be yellow too. In low vis water there have been times where the only thing I saw from my buddy was his yellow fins and that's also the case in water with 40 foot vis crammed with fish to bring the vis down to 5 feet.

Not necessarily, If people care what other people think about what they look like in scuba gear I'd seriously question their priorities.

As long as color was low or last on your list of priorities when making your gear choices, what does it matter if you decide to mix or match.

Buy whatever color you like. The fishes don't care, the other divers shouldn't care, and even if they did, why would you care what they think?
