I saw a very slick set up the other day.

The guy cut and polished 2 sections of PVC pipe the width of the retaining pins with less than 90 degree arcs. The pipe segments were drilled and attached to the unit with the pins and partially wrapped the wrist. The PVC pipe segments were also drilled to receive bungee which went around the wrist.

Don't know if I explained it well enough.

I think I get it... but maybe a crude picture? That must have been some very very thin pvc pipe!

Has anyone actually figured out how to delete a dive off the sol? I'm kinda tired of it always recording and d/ling pool sessions!

OOOhhh I get it... however it seems that the weakest point would be where the pins go through the pvc pipe. That's an awfully tight and narrow area to drill a hole all the way through. It seems like it could break easily!

This thing is even bulkier than the ads suggest. No way this will ever find its way into my gear bag. The price alone is just bananas. For the cost of the Galileo, you can buy 8 or more small and potent dive computers, such as a DiveRite Nitek, or something.

I bring an SPG to the pool. It hardly ever beeps and doesn't fill up my log book. 8-)

yeah, I'm going to do that now. I assisted in 36 girlscouts doing their DSD and I didn't have anything else with me. Although, it's just a pool... could have used nothing and I would have been fine! oh well. Now it's just annoying that those pool "dives" keep showing up.

The SOL is so much more of a computer than a Nitek. Granted it is a bit bulky and expensive, but IMO it is worth it.

BTW - This machine can be had for a lot less then MSRP. A lot less!!

Sam

Agreed. But without the strap, there is now a free slot in the housing for a safety lanyard a la VR3
