We got our first dives on Ningaloo Reef for Spring today. It was good to see that water temperature is on its way back up though still a little chilly at 23°C/73°F. The water was reasonably clear but with a lot of floaty chunks which made photography difficult. It was good to see that some of the fish were taking along some help to get a little spring cleaning:

heheh - and love the cake too :clapping:

Thanks :) My friend supervised my cake making attempt (I have only ever made cheesecake), she makes all sorts of weird cakes - I got an axolotl cake for my birthday this year modelled on my pet axie! :D Her next challenge is a Tamja Verconis Nudibranch cake for a friend of ours's birthday in a few weeks :rofl3:

:confused4:What is an axolot or axie?:confused6:

Good trick with the aquarium... been pulled before:no:

Isn't the treasure hunt this sunday?

:crafty: Sas it is an impressive cake.... but..... :eyebrow:"Sorry Judge, honest mistake... I didn't know they were venomous!":shakehead: I thought my chocolate rum cake was a killer!:rofl3:

I'm working on organizing my LEI shots finally.... could finish it on time for Christmas:blinking:

Hehe well in Australia they are also known as 'Mexican Walking Fish' though they are amphibians not fish actually.

Here is my axolotl:

I think he is the *cutest* thing ever but Daniel says they are one of the most hideous creatures around :rofl3: and calls him my 'water mouse'. He is 1.5 years old and is 25cm now so getting very big!

:blinking: Is Daniel your partner? If he is that proves he has taste in women but clearly no taste in pets.... your axolotl is very cute:rofl3: ya gotta love anything that unusual. The cake is awesome:D
