Bob Barker Mauled By Spayed Cats, Fixed Dogs

BOCA RATON, Fla. (CAP) - Mere days into a well-deserved retirement, venerable game show host Bob Barker was viciously attacked by what witnesses described as "a pack of wild housepets." He remains in guarded condition at West Boca Medical Center.

According to the police report of the incident, the attack occurred just before 6pm ET on Monday in the popular Spanish River Park. Barker and two large-breasted female companions in evening dresses were reportedly just relaxing on a park bench when numerous pets began approaching the trio from a number of different directions.

"And then it just got really weird," said 42-year-old Philip Henry, who was enjoying a stroll through the park at that time. "First it was a couple of tabbies, and then a Collie. Within minutes they had him surrounded, and it was just too late.

"It was like the pets knew," added Henry. "Those bastards knew!"

Police said over 50 cats and dogs "ripped Barker to shreds like a gray-haired chew toy." Barker is reported to have thrown a handful of Plinko chips like frisbees to try to distract some of the dogs, but when that failed had to resort to trying to fend them off with a small pencil-thin microphone.

"Sure, we have to deal with the occasional stray that gets into the park," said Spanish River Park Ranger Harley Yip, "but this is the first time I've ever heard of them organizing like this and launching an offensive. Usually they just poo on the walkways."

A spokesman for Barker said the former Price Is Right host suffered from multiple bite and scratch wounds over most of his body. The spokesman would not comment on reports that Barker plans to change his public service announcements from "spay and neuter" to "euthanize."
