Sorry guys! It looks like I won't be able to make the lake on Thursday. I didn't realize that it takes the LDS so long to do VIS checks on my three tanks. I was really looking forward to meeting you guys and getting some dives in; it would of been my first time diving as an advanced diver and I would have broken 10 dives. If anyone is planning a trip to Pleasant Saturday after 2:00 or anytime Sunday please let me know. Have fun and be safe!

George

Pick up your tanks and take them to an LDS that wants your business. I've had mine done while I waited-even Sports Chalet will do that if they have a tech there that is not too busy. Call around and find someone who will do it same day. Now if it needs hydro, that is a different story.

I was at Pleasant this morning for a few hours before work taking in an exteneded surface interval (waterskiing & wakeboarding). We put in at Vista Point. The viz on the surface still looks pretty good. The lake recession seams to be excellerating somewhat but still much better than last year at this time. Diving should be decent tommorow.

I will be joining you guys at Vista Point tomorrow afternoon at 5:30 p.m. See you then

Hey Guys,

My name is Mike and I'm new to the area. Looking to go diving with the girlfriend on Saturday. Anybody recommend a dive shop to rent BC, regulator, and tanks (North Glendale Area)? Also can I receive one of the maps of Vista Point? Any tips from you guys would be appreciated.

Hey Mike:

Welcome to the board and the Valley of the Sun. The only Northwest shops I know of that rent equipment would be Scuaba Specialties (4139 W. Bell Road) or the new Sports Chalet at 99th Ave and Lake Pleasant parkway.

You can download actual maps of Lake Pleasant from the Maricopa county parks website. I have attached a totally unofficial google earth map showing the common sites people often dive that are reasonably accessible by car. Some people have different names for the same site so use with caution. Also, Scorpian Bay is now a Marina and you cannot dive there unless you have connections.

If you have any more questions post them here. There are a lot of great people who will be glad to help you out or dive with you.

Welcome....and ditto's with Rudebob...he has you covered.....

Looking forward to meeting you and diving soon.....Have a great time this weekend!!!

Only one other suggestion that isn't on the Map is the Old Dam Dive.... That is a great dive but it is not a shore dive....We will be getting up a boat of divers in a month or so to do that dive if you are wanting to do that dive let me know....

I'm planning on going to the lake this Saturday. I'll have my boys with me so we'll stay shallow. Dt was pretty good last Saturday so we'll probably end up there.

Steve.

Quick question and sorry if this has been answered. What thickness wetsuit/if any do you need for Lake Pleasant?

Thanks,
Mike
