Then I stand corrected. I guess I learned to never have my regulator set to the pre-dive setting. :mooner:

ohh and I'm sure Erika is enjoying this. Pretty soon she will stop complaining about the price of gas and will be driving you to our dives south of Malibu. Now, you better hitch that ride to the picnic.

Hmm thats funny cause one of my last dives I did almost the whole dive to around 70' on predive and never noticed it :)

On a serious note, the predive setting controls a venturi effect in the reg to help reduce free-flows, nothing more. In todays litigious society can you imaging a regulator company actually making a reg you COULDNT breathe out of when you need it, no matter the setting? That would be an extremely hazardous safety situation. Its either all in your head or somethings seriously wrong with your reg.

If its your gear I suggest fixing it ASAP. If not, well, If a beach entry makes you so scared ya can't breathe maybe you better rethink some things...such as beach diving. Not meant to be a dick but just concerned.

nah my predive just makes it so it reduces the amount of air released when breathing in. As it is unless i am underwater my regs dont being used very much and its hard to breathe. so when i was out of the water it didnt want to work...underwater i can breathe on predive but not out. im not THAT scared of the waves...they just dont like me much

'kay :)

Just made me real nervous when you say you couldn't breathe at all with a reg in your mouth and I don't wanna see anyone hurt. Still predive should breathe just fine out of water.
